3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 MartinT (6928) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - APR 25, 2013
My Bottom Line:
Herbal hops and soft pils malts coexist peacefully in this healthy Pils.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A creamy head of foam covers the pale yellow.
-The hop aroma is beautifully done, if not a tad understated.
-Drinkability is really high.
-Body could have been drier.
On tap at Molto!.

Bottle. Looked as you would expect. Taste is biscuity, lemon, grainy, bit like a shandy which was strangely welcome. Nice bitter finish. Aroma is lemony, hops. Nice and crisp.

Green bottle brought back from a friend’s trip to Japan: Cloudy pale orange color akin to peach juice, but a little darker, with a thin white head. Not much aroma, just a little sweet and malty. The flavor is startling at first sip; crisp florals, herbal, and bready. There is a little sweetness in the background from the malts, but overall a decent and crisp flavor profile.

Tap / Pitcher. It seemed to be a light-golden color, mostly clear. We were pouring for ourselves, but it didn’t seem to build much of a head. The taste was light with a light body, at least from my perspective. It was a good beer to wash down the pizza and pasta.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 maekchu (1086) - Hirakata, JAPAN - JUN 17, 2012
UPDATED: DEC 29, 2012 Bottle (gift from Neko-chan). Moderate stinky Saaz hop aroma, w/ a bit a grassy malt, some yeastiness. Very fine carbonation. Slightly cloudy, golden yellow. Malty w/ a bit a hops emerging in mid palate. Medium-heavy body (for a pils). Well-balanced beer, though a bit heavy for the style. Pleasant and very drinkable.

Draught at Yellow Ape Craft: much better than the bottled one

Draught at Mokichi Trattoria at the Shonan Brewery. Colour is a touch hazy, yellow amber with a medium smooth foam head. Not brown bitter looking at all! Nose is grainy, cereal, like a lager. Taste is bitter, sourish hops, with a light crisp lager like body.

UPDATED: AUG 2, 2010 Draught at Q-Brick. Deep, dark gold color. Huge noble hop aroma with cereal grains. Rich malt flavor with slight honey and caramel touch, biscuits, grassy hops, excellent bitterness. Low carbonation and smooth body. A lovely pils with great flavor, great hops, great cereals. Excellent. (Bottle from the Brewery (2009) 7/3/7/3/13. Dark golden color, with a touch of amber and a tall, creamy head. Malty aroma, pils-like, really. Buttery, with biscuits. Tangy, slightly fruity flavor, with big biscuity malts and a bit of honey, noticeable aroma and bittering hops. Decent balance, with a rather good, bitter finish. Clean and hoppy.)

Poured a slightly hazed light yellow color and a white head. Skunky and malty aroma and flavor. Light body.

Bottle shared by daijokey. Pale golden colour, honeyish malt and a fairly skunky nose initially. This fades, leaving a soft flinty bitterness towards the finish. Meh, a bit industrial.
