mdm46410 (529), Griffith, Indiana, USA Dec 1, 2007 Updated: Dec 29, 2007On tap at Shoreline Brewery and served in a shaker. This brew poured a deep brown hue with some maroon highlights and a very thin head of tan foam. A small amount of light lace was left around the glass. The aroma of the beer was made up of roasted malts, chocolate, and also some yeast. The flavor included roasted malts, light chocolate, yeast, and also some mild hop notes. The mouthfeel was medium to full-bodied with light carbonation. A nice, flavorful, easy drinking brew. Cornfield (4254), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA Nov 26, 2007 Nice sessionable lager. It poured a deep mahogany body with a small bubbly beige head. Decent amount of lacing. The aroma was dark lightly roasted malts, milk chocolate, and a light floral hopping. A bit thin, perhaps, and maybe overly carbonated. Still, it delivered rich malty flavors coupled with chocolate and enough hoppy bitterness to keep it in check. Nice.

Poured dark brown with lots of ruby highlights.
Very clean pils aroma with just a touch of dry roasted character.
Again, pleasant plisner character with dry roasted malts, light chocolate, and noble hop character. Quite bitter.
Medium/light body. High carbonation. Smooth, dry finish.
You really have a winner here, Sam. Good job. jezmez68 (269), Chesterton, Indiana, USA Apr 27, 2007 While this beer is dark as all get-out, it is not a porter style or stout. It is a black lager. Tastes a bit chocolatey, great flavor, but not too hoppy. Kind of like a Michelob Dark, but not as creamy. Not wicked aftertaste, just a mellow chocolate flavoring on your tongue. My favorite Shoreline brew hands down! k2 (141), USA Apr 5, 2007 Very pleasing. Dark beer but not too heavy. Hoppy but not overpowering with a slight chocolate finish.
