4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
750 ml bottle, red wax covering the cap, 2008 vintage. Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with a thin tan head that faded away fast. Thereís also a small amount of lacing. Aroma is sweet and malty, the brew smells like bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, oak, molasses, dark fruit and roasted malt. The taste is similar to the aroma, but thereís also the addition of some coffee. Mouthfeel/body is medium, itís slick and coating but it also has very low carbonation, it seems almost completely flat. This sure doesnít drink like a 12% ABV beer, itís pretty easy drinking considering how strong it is. I think this is a good overall brew. But at $23.99 a bottle, I wouldnít buy it again at that price.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
25.4 oz bottle, 2008. Dark brown with a single layer of tan bubbles. Nose is chocolate, oak and bourbon with bits of raisin and molasses. Milky medium body with a tang and some heat. Taste is quite nuanced. Obvious chocolate, bourbon and dark caramel; suggestions of cantaloupe, fig, coconut and black olive. Great complexity; this has aged beautifully.

2008 bottle. Damn, this thing is fancy. Fancy ass beer. Chocolate nose with plenty of booze. Flavor is retarded.... Home schooled retarded. This thing would sit in the back seat of the short bus with the cool kids. Loads of chocolate malt and enough bourbon to make me buy Elijah Craig. Tons of smooth coffee with cream, and not overly bitter. Tits McGee.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Very rich, oily black pour...motor oil really...with a fading tan head. Nose is big alcoholic bourbony goodness, vanilla, roasted (burnt) grain, and some espresso. Very nice slippery texture, with a very intense covering of the palate. More vanilla, oak, bourbon, brown sugar, burnt roastiness, espresso, and syrup-like texture. Excellent!
