COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Shoreline's lightest offering. This lager is styled after the first beer brewed celebrating King Ludwig's wedding to Princess Teresa of Saxon which turned into the modern day Oktoberfest. It has a nice white lacey head followed by a beautiful golden blonde hue.

tap at the brewery (description said it was aged in a French Oak Syrah barrel) - The brew has a mild, pleasant aroma mostly of wine. It tastes of sweet, pale malt and grapes with a light body and no noticeable hop presence. Interesting brew. The wine barrel aging works well for it.

On tap - have enjoyed this multiple times, both in its ístandardí offering, as well as ísyrah barrel agedí (which was quite intriguing actually). This review is for the standard offering - came to the table clear gold with a thin white head. Corn and grain in the nose with some lingering sweetness, and the flavor mimics the aroma well. Palate is not bad for the style, and this is actually a quite drinkable version. Easy drinking, and not offensive - far from the worst thing out there!

From the tap this pours a clear golden body with a small bubbly head that quickly fades away. The aroma has some sweet grainy malt and a touch of candy corn. A mild earthy bitterness is added to the flavor, balancing the drink out. Not sure if this should be styled as a Pale Lager since itís adjunct free and has taste-able hops. No matter. I probably wonít be repeating it.

Draft sample at brewpub. Clear pale color with a minimal frothy white head that mostly diminished with fair lacing. Light sour citrus aroma. Light to medium body with a dry texture. Medium sweet flavor with a medium balanced finish of short duration.

On tap at Shoreline Brewpub. Hazy amber with a lacy white head. Aroma of grains and sweet malt. Taste of sweet malt, a hint of honey, corn with a crisp finish. Just a click, on to the next brew.

This draft brew from the brewery poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized bubbles that was mostly lasting and left behind a transparent uncarbonated orange colored body. The thin mild aroma was malty. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish with a lager hop malt aftertaste. The flavor contained notes of medium strength lagerish hop malt mix. An OK brew just nothing special.

Sampler pour on tap at the brewpub (Michigan City, IN). Pours a well hazed yellow golden hue, frothy white head films well, laces ok. Some decent glow, golden orange hue. Aromas are gentle bread and cereal grains, touches of bread, grassn and straw. A mellow gentle hopping, kiss of dry toast. Simple, inviting. Initial is medium bodied, a bit lighter, touch of girth shows cereal grains, bread, and dough. Gentle cracker, grassy hops, some mellow florals. Some flour, florals, dough into the middle. Kiss of lemon rind, florals, and a bigger grassy component. Clean and generally more firm hopping, gentle and fairly clean, a growing dry hoppy quality. Backend and finish show bread, florals and earth, kiss of citrus. Firmly solid Lager, with a nice hop presence. Pretty nice.. Above many brewpub lagers and into the "Iíd buy cans/bottles of this" realm..

Clear gold color with thin white head that laced the glass. Aroma and flavor were similar; light sprucy hops and fresh malty cereal grain. Slightly sweet with a crisp clean finish.

UPDATED: MAY 5, 2009 Nice, straight-forward lager beer. Served cold in a mug. Smallish head with lots of bubbles that disappears. This is as good as the Helles OKtoberfest from Hofbrauhaus, only itís fresher here at Shoreline.
