Bottle I brought to Richard’s Graduation Party (Western Springs, IL). Drank side-by-side with other barrel variants. Pours a deep brownish copper pour, some deeper brown middle, good haze with some glowing copper edges. Nice light, frothy whitish head. Dies to a mellow ring, laces ok. Aromas are whiskey, caramel, and gentle peat. Some toffee, toast, and oak. Vanilla, touches of spice, vanilla. A touch sweet we move into a gentle fruit presence, vanilla. Initial is fuller end of medium bodied, toffee and toast, some warthm, vanilla and tannic wood. Spirit, gentle spice. Some gentle sweetness, toffee, caramel. Middle is a touch sweet, thicker body, caramel and toffee, toast. Bacckend shows gentle barrel, gentle rye spice and spirit, touches of vanilla and tannic barrel. Finish is a touch sticky, sweet, the barrel may not have finished it’s job here. Solid.

750 ml bottle shared by Tmoney99. Pours a dark brown color with reddish highlights and a thin beige film. The aroma had caramel, molasses, wood and rye whiskey; it was very nice actually. The flavor was very similar; caramel, molasses, some butterscotch (not in a bad way), wood and whiskey. This was not overly big with the barrel notes like some of the other Big Beers from Shoreline. Overall, this was pretty nice.

Bottle. Poured dark brown color with a moderate frothy light brown head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted malt, rye, wood and alcohol aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy well balanced bourbon and malt flavor with a moderate to heavy smooth scotch sweet finish of moderate to long duration. Good standout brew.

Bottle to snifter (thanks, tmoney99). Looks good; deep with thin lacing. Smells good too; nice and boozy. Tastes Pretty good; the rye is prominent. Mouthfeel is average. I like it better than the brandy barrels.
