3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Golden orange pour with thin white head. Aroma has a lot of perfume, strong hops and the sweet/tangy guava, light herbal bitterness, almost like cilantro. Flavor is sweet, strong meaty fruit, herbal and piney hops. Flavor weld into a nice concoction of sweet and bitter, neither one really taking the forefront. Medium bodied with prickly carbonation.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz bottle via trade thanks to surlytheduff on BA. Pours clear orangish golden with a nicely formed off-white head. Aroma has big guava, mango, and spice, citrusy hops, and sweet malt. Sweet pale and caramel malt base on the flavor with huge guava fruitiness, tangerine, mango, and spice, maybe coriander. Medium-bodied with average carbonation. A good interesting IPA but I think I like Half Acreís version a little better.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Pours a beautiful copper color with a thin white head. Aroma is tropical fruits, citrus, floral. Flavor is guava, light caramel, and bitter hops. Palate is medium bodied, somewhat dry, moderate prickly carbonation, finished bitter. A very good IPA with just the right amount of guava.

3.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours hazy gold. Medium white head, fades quickly. Lacing is fairly thick and sudsy. Beautiful floral and citrus hop notes meld with the guava, which is not the least bit subtle, but in a good way. Mouthfeel is medium, really good carbonation, a sweet fruitiness at first that gives way to a moderate but palatable hop bitterness on the finish. Pretty decently balanced, the guava makes up for a lack of malt body. Pretty decent IPA, but if this was a one-off I donít think Iíll miss it.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle: The aroma has lot of citrus, grapefruit, guava, pine, and light tropical fruit. It pours a transparent-golden orange with a small soapy off-white head with some sporadic webbing for lacing. The flavor starts with light sweet citrus and tropical fruits. The finish has moderate grapefruit, light guava, tartness, and pine. Light-medium bodied with soft carbonation. Obviously, very similar to beer brewed at Half Acre, but this one seems a little stronger with the grapefruit and less guava tartness in the finish. I prefer the Half Acre version just a tad...but will be drinking plenty of this while itís fresh and available in 6-packs.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Medium straw-orange, slightly hazy body, thin ring of off-white carbonation but no head. Nose of tropical fruit and bitter citrus rind hops. Bitter fruit skin body, loaded with bitter, tart guava and astringent hops, softened by small amounts of residual sugar. Strange tannic finish. This beer did remind me of the Anniversary Ale, but not in a good way, as the potent guava/hops combination made finishing the bottle a minor chore.

tap at hopcat for shorts bday celebration, 12/10..guava infused ipa. guava comes across beautifully in this beer. orange body with small head. guava, soap, and hot hops. similar to the anniv ale, replacing blood oranges with the guava. big pine in the finish, with just a touch of sweetness
