Freedom of ’78 is a medium bodied IPA with a wonderful, bright clarity and pleasing bronze hue. The aroma is a unique fusion of citrus fruit and subtle pine qualities. The distinct characteristics of the guava nectar are impossible to miss, and attributes of tangerine, nectarine, and even faint honey flavors are detectable. The finish quickly turns to an expected IPA bitterness that turns dry during prolonged tastings

In short: A refreshing hoppy blonde ale. Good IPA
How: From a bottle at Mondial De La Bière 2012
The look: Clear golden blonde body topped by a very small white head
In long: Nose is vibrant fresh with mangos, passion fruits and the likes. Taste is more of the same, nice fresh cereals, fresh refreshing exotic fruits (even some kiwis), plenty of green pine needles. Overall the flavors are very bright. Quite hoppy. Prickly carbonation. Refreshing. This beer was good, and most people also love the actual freedom of the 70s, as long as they strop to think about the fact that all love songs written during that decade were about a woman with an extremely hairy vagina.

[4480-20120608] Bottle. Fishy orange crackers aroma has a very fruity marijuana undertone. Clear, orange amber body with a quick creamy off-white head and some lacing. Lemon citrus hops flavour is quite bitter. Medium body is bitter. Great to sample, just a little unbalanced in the bitterness for my tastes but could be wonderful. (8/4/7/3/14) 3.6

2012-06-08. Bright orange body with a nice off-white head that fades. 3+ Very leafy cannibis like aroma seems to cover up the fruity base for me, and is a bit strange. 6+ In the flavour it has an interesting fruity character and gets leafy around the edges. The server mentioned guava but I am not sure I have ever had one to be able specifically identify it. Odd sharp fruity character in the finish lingers in the finish and aftertaste. 6+ Average plus palate is very smooth. 3+ Others got more citrus out of it but I got a strong funky leafy marijuana like character from it, as if someone was smoking a joint beside me, which really put me off. Not sure if its the beer, a freshness issue, or my senses but I did not care for this. Bottle at Mondial, Montreal
