3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Sour and tangy taste and aroma. Very cloudy, and light brown color. Sure didnít taste the 11.7% alcohol! Another really eclectic brew from Shorts!

3.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
RBSG 2010 Keg: Coppery and reddish hue with a small and fading head which left no lace upon the glass, some oily legs. The aroma is quite fruity with tart orange zest, blood orange, apricot and plum along with a noticeable spiced character of corriander and white pepper. Some resiny and leafy hops along with white wheat, toffee and biscuity malts. The taste is both zesty and slightly sour fruit countered by some sweet malt character. Relatively spicy throughout with the peppers and floral overtones quite up front about their presence. A splash of hop bitterness and slight chalky wheat and yeast notes show up from time to time. The mouth feel is a bit surprising, not as heavy I expected nor as aggressive, still hardly easy and smooth with the peppery character and slight sourness keeping the palate alive. Not to bad but needs slight editing, I would try this again... sort of an Imperial "Witwine"

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
12 oz bottle: Aroma is tart citrus, deep dark fruit like raisins and prunes, malt, really hoppy as well with a pungent hop charcteristic poking through the back end. Appearance is really dark orange almost brown really cloudy with a off white to tanish orange head. Taste is wonderful, tart blood orange, hops by the load, then into prune and dark fruit, melding into a tingleing bed off goodness. There is just something about this beer that I just like. SOme people might not, but itís just really good for my tastes. CheerS1

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Sampled at GTMW 2010 - Pours reddish cola color with an off-white head. Itís already weird! Nose is lots of piney hops, with a weird milky smell. The blood oranges really come through in the taste, with lots of rind and juice, mixed with some chocolate notes and some floral finishing hops. Smooth and well-carbonated, but Iím not sure these flavors were meant to go together. As with most of the Shorts stuff I try, The deScription sounds better than the execution. But I love trying them!

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Thanks to Nellie and thirdeye11 for sharing this bottle.
The beer pours a reddish-amber color with a white head. The aroma is heavy on the oranges and wheat. The flavor is blood oranges, wheat and alcohol. There is a little bit of tartness in the flavor, but not as much as you would get in a sour ale. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. A very good beer.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a deep red with a good head. The aroma is hops and oranges with some grapefruit. The blood orange flavor is pretty strong and the beer is plenty bitter with lots of citrus rind.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
12oz courtesy of Desaparecido. Poured a hazy ruby red grapefruit color with a small head that had little retention or lace. Massive piney/resiny hop nose hints at what may be a sweet, sticky DIPA. Taste has perfume, blood orange spiciness and tartness, hop oils, lots of peppercorns coming through that at first hint at massive booziness/spicy alcohol but the body stays spicy and very dry with no warming alcohol even at near 12%. Very good.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sampled on tap at the GTMW í10 (Madison, WI). Pours a nice glowing fiery orange hue, a touch of haze but quite striking, glowing with a fiery purpose, a small whitish head dies to bubbles at the edges. Aromas are bigger malts and orange, peel and zest with some juiciness, a touch of spice. Caramel and toffee follow behind, wheat bread and the fruity esters associated with flaked wheat ensue. A medium body, surprised it isnít bigger. The juiciness seems to make this go down quite easily. Small bitterness, a touch of mellow coriander linger with citrusy orange oils and faint bitterness in the finish. An interesting beer, I like the oranges en masse it offers, and it certainly goes down easy for being a fairly big beer.
