On draft at Churchkey in D.C. The beer is hazy and yellow, with a soft, white head that leaves a bit of lacing on the glass. The aroma brings light banana, with a subtle, underlying sweetness. The flavor is pretty straightforward and simple. A touch of bananas, fruity esters, a bit of sweetness. Nothing terribly exciting or memorable, but a decent beer. I could throw back a pint of this. This is not a hefeweizen, not even close. a pretty standard pale wheat ale with bavarian yeast. Light, spicy, refreshing, but not much more

12 ounce bottle courtesy of northernbrews. Thanks! Pours a hazy yellow-pale orange color with a thin fizzy white head that fades quickly. Aroma of big banana, big clove, wheat and caramel. The taste is dry wheat, citrus, herbal hops. Medium bodied, average carbonation, fairly dry. Nice beer.

8/11/12. GTMW. Hazy golden yellow pour with a nice enough off-white head. Light aroma of tangy wheat, citrus, banana, bubblegum, and very light phenolic spice. Smooth almost creamy flavor with some sweetness, citrus, and banana. Laid back and refreshing, but a bit sweet and not all that interesting. Not bad.

On tap at Brickhouse BBQ - Pours hazy yellow with a thin white head. Nose is night light banana, lemon, and a touch of spice. Taste is fruity and tropical, with banana and light spice. Big and thick, with good carbonation.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy, straw yellow color with a small white head. Busy aroma, consisting of banana, clove, bubblegum and grass. Initial flavor of banana sweetness dulls to a grassy, wheat taste. Leaves a bit of a bland aftertaste. Normal carbonation with a watery body. A good Summer refresher that doesn’t overpower you with the hefe flavors.

Small pour on tap at Brickhouse BBQ (Madison, WI). Pours a straw yellow hue, good glow and haziness. A small frothy whitish head atop dies to a small ring and laces small. Aromas are straw and flaked wheat. Gentle dryness, bread, and some touches of mellow fruit. Light ester, pear, gentle banana. Kiss of citrus, grass. Initial is lighter bodied, mellow sweetness, fruit, bit of bubblegum. Gentle sweetness, bread, as the middle preaches some sweetness, straw. Gentle bubblegum, apple, and banana. A kiss of yeast, some sweetness. A bit bland in the middle, the backend and finish leave distinct bubblegum and fruit, bready malts. More lively sweet fruit elements. Kisses of orange, bubblegum, and bready malts, a bit doughy, touch of tartness at times. Meh. A summer sessioner for sure, a bit sweet for me.

12 ounce bottle into weizen glass, bottled on 7/23/2012. Pours very hazy golden amber color with a small 1 finger fairly dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings to the glass, with a small amount of carbonation streaming up. Aromas of big banana, clove, lemon zest, pepper, wheat, bubblegum, and yeast spiciness. Very nice aromas with good strength and balance. Taste of banana, clove, pepper, lemon zest, floral, wheat, bready grain, light bubblegum, and yeast spices. Light yeasty tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of banana, clove, lemon zest, wheat, bread, pepper, earth, and yeast spices on the finish for a bit. Very nice amount of flavor for 5% without feeling watery at all. Medium carbonation and body; with a fairly creamy and crisp mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with pretty much no warming noticed on the finish. Overall this is a damn nice Hefeweizen. Great balance of flavors without feeling watery; and extremely easy to drink. I really have no complaints, very well done.

12 oz bottle. Pours a slightly hazy light golden with a small white head. Bubble gum and clove in the aroma, hint of lemon. Yeasty clove and bubble gum flavor with definite wheat that wasn’t noted in the aroma. Clean flavors, a pretty nice light wheat beer.
