COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The hub of the village
Bellaire Brown is a full-flavored brown ale that derives sweet caramel and toasted qualities from four different kinds of malt and specialty grains. Select hop varieties create an enticing aroma and dry finish. Bellaire Brown is very dark and rich, which makes it hard to classify as a brown, but it is certainly considered a delicious masterpiece.

Bellaire Brown was originally created to appeal to people who enjoyed drinking coffee, and to beer drinkers who are not interested in hoppy options. When Joe Short was creating the Bellaire Brown recipe, he desired a beer that was meatier and burlier than most browns. Bellaire Brown is a great gate-way beer for drinkers to be introduced to darker beer varieties.

Had it from a growlery while golfing in Michigan. It has a sweet malty and carmel tast with just enough hops to make it a smooth beer. It was better closer to room temp.

Brown pour with barely any head. Light aroma. Taste is nutty. Not too sweet. A little chocolate. Disappointing that the aroma is so light. Great medium body palate.

pours hazy medium dark brown, orange tint, with a small yet reviving light beige head, some retention. roasted caramel, nutty brown malts, coffee grinds, decent amount of fruits - slightly acrid berries though, grassy, peppery with piney hints, slightly garbagy, minerals, hint of sweetness - caramel-like. average carbonation, light body - oily, semi-sweet grassy-herbal-peppery finish. slightly above average brown ale.

From bottle. Nice roasted grain nose, some coffee and chocolate aromas, light sassafras and mild hop note. Dark brown opaque with foamy light tan head. Medium body with medium carbonation. Starts and stays sweet, with toasted malt, light coffee and Tootsie Roll flavors, dusty grains. Maybe some roasted barley in there, too. Sweet throughout, with a bit of carbonic acidity in the finish with very little bitterness. Smooth clean nutty-sweet after. Decent brown ale.

This was the first darker beer I ever drank. After being a light beer drinker this brown made me start to drink all kinds of craft beer. Out of the tap at the brewery doubles how good it is. Smooth coffee taste with no bitter aftertaste. Even smells smooth, my favorite brown ale for sure. Good for someone looking to try craft beer, plus a six pack at 7% will have you feeling good as a bonus.

Poured from a 12oz bottle. Aroma is fairly malty with quite a bit of toasted bread and nuttiness. Light roast character and faint caramel. I don?t really pick up any hops or alcohol in the aroma. Pours a nice, fairly clear brown color with some ruby highlights and a small, moderately thin, tan head that exhibits decent retention as it recedes to the edges. Moderately high amounts of lacing but not really any legs. Flavor has a medium sweetness with moderate toasted bread and nutty notes. Medium light caramel with light roast and chocolate. Faint notes of fig and prime with light notes of raisin. Medium low to low bitterness without more than faint hop flavor. Mouthfeel is medium light bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, this isn?t a style I usually reach for and it?s not the best example of the style, bit it is a nice, easy drinking beer. Lots of make character, but I expected a bit more hop presence.

Poured from 12 oz. bottle at the Chamberlain Forest Inn in Curtis, MI. Clear, but with a hint of haze, dark mahogany-brown with a small khaki head and good lacing. Aroma of intense toffee, nuts and brown sugar. Taste of toffee, chocolate malt, caramel, nut and roasted malt. Medium/full body and low/medium carbonization. Mmmmm.....more notes found and a possible all time favorite American Brown Ale of mine. Here we go: I poured this into a pint glass. The appearance was a nice ruddy brown color with a one finger white foamy head that spider-webbed as it went down. The lacing was there and trickled for the most part. The smell was nutty and malty. The taste was a nice nutty sweet maltiness running about my tastebuds and reminding me of a time I spent in Michigan. The palate had a nice creaminess running about my mouth and tongue and had a decent sessionability about it as well. Overall, in my opinion, this was a great American Brown ale well worthy of having again and well worthy in Autumn.

Pours a dark brown with a slight white head. Has a sweet caramel and malts aroma, and a similar flavor that comes off strong and stays that way. Has a medium body feel. There’s nothing too surprising, but it’s a solid beer.

Tap: Ruddy, chestnut brown, relatively dark with a beige layer of foam that’s pretty quick to settle into a chunky collar. Aroma of cocoa dust, caramel toasted malt, light toffee sweetness, & a hint of dirty hops laying underneath. Nice malt sweetness on the palate; present, but light enough to not be overbearing. Moderate flavors of Munich malt, lightly steel-y caramel & toffee, burnt bread, dry cocoa, & perhaps even the mildest hint of coffee. Hops are there, but secondary. A faint herbal & earthy character cleans up in the finish. Nothing to blow your wad over, but a tasty, drinkable brown ale that goes down nicely.
