25.6 oz bottle. Had this one a few weeks ago and luckily my rating sheet was still in the recycling bin. Dark burgundy brown with a thin tan head. Nose is black cherry and mocha; chocolate covered cherries with an espresso center. Medium light with a tart woody tang. Taste is black cherry jam, coffee and brown sugar. Dry finish with green plum, kind of vinous. I love the way the fruit peels away to reveal a rich porter.

Oct 2, 2008 Shorts smagning med klubben. Super sort med et lille kaffelatte farvet skum. Ristet, chokolade, lakrids, kaffe. Der er lidt metal og lidt kirsebær. Let syrlig.

Sep 30, 2008 Bottle at home. Black - brown head. Burned, cherry, dryness, licorice, berries, smooth, tarness, nutty, chocolate. A bit thin body and finish.

Sep 27, 2008 Bottle 220 of 792. Poured an opaque black color with a light brown head. Smelled of chocolate, roasty malt, subdued dark fruits, and brown sugar. Medium bodied and dry. There was a hint of cherry tartness without any overt cherry flavor. Very roasty with chocolate, nuts, and a hint of anise. I also detected a slight papery oxidized note.

Sep 22, 2008 Black with a small off-white head. Licorice and roast malt aroma. Dry and smooth roasted flavour. It has a peculiar refreshing fruity quality, but nothing I’d have picked as cherry in a blind tasting. Very pleasant beer.
