As usual with beers that I’ve had at a festival, the aroma was weak, but I don’t hold the beer accountable for that. It had a nice dark pour with a dark tan head. It had a lot of chocolate going on in the flavor, less cherry than I was expecting considering that chocolate wasn’t in the name of the beer. It was pretty tasty none the less. I guess as a fruit beer goes, this is a really good one.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 26, 2009 Growler… October ‘09 O-Town Throwdown!… Pours black with a creamy, khaki head. Good retention. The aroma is composed mainly of chocolate and toasted nuts, but is slightly impaired by a touch of cardboard-like oxidation. Full-bodied and milky with nearly expired carbonation. The flavor is all cardboard and ash with very mild acidity. Unfortunately, I am unable to pick out any cherry in the aroma or flavor. Burnt, bitter finish. Growler shared by GoT and northernbrews! | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 25, 2009 On tap at the Hop Cat. Black pour. Aroma of cherry yogurt, some roast. Chocolate too. Nice after the fact cherry notes in this roasty porter. I dig it thought. It was like a dessert someone obviously worked hard on so you tried it and it was good, so you had seconds. mgumby10 (1858), Jupiter, Florida, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 22, 2009 Courtesy Godofthunder. Dark mahogany brown pour with a light tan head. Smells of rich roast malts, some coca, chocolate, hops, and light frutiiness as well. Decent enough nose to it. The flavor was also very roasty, and you get the cherry flavors more in the finish and lingering aftertaste. Chooclate and cocao also are quite evident in its flavor character. Pretty drinkable and interesting beer. Beerlando (2367), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 21, 2009 Growler, courtesy GoT and northernbrews. The pours is dark, nearly opaque, and deep magogany in color. A small, frothy head of tan foam settles to a thin, swirly layer. Scattered, wet spotting marks the glass, much of it slowly returning to the body. The aroma is based in roasty, dry, dark cocoa, with notes of burnt caramel and toasted barley grain. Earthy hops lend aromatic bitterness, while a soft kiss of dark fruit lends depth. Flavors are again very roasty and chocolaty, with coffee, bittersweet cocoa, and indiscernible dark fruit all showing strong. Medium-plus in body and moderately carbonated, the palate transitions from balanced up front to a semi-dry finish. Nicely balanced and drinkable, it’s a solid porter, though the cherry is very subtle. Solid. dchmela (1476), Orlando, Florida, USA

Nice light smoke aroma, medium rich roast, light dark fruit, light bluebery. Flavor is a nice balance between roast and blueberry, some smoke, really nice. Light carbonation, medium body. Really nice, a lighter version of Dh tres.
