Sampled at the RBSG Summer Grand Tasting (Grand Rapids, MI). Pours a nice glowing hazy amber, a nice brightness, frothy white head laces well, films over quite well. Aromas are juicy grapefruit and orange hops, a kiss of bourbon, vanilla tannins, decent biscuity and pale malts beneath. Initial has nice smooth vanilla dn biscuits, citrusy hops, but not that teltale bourbon booziness. Lighter than the nose presented. A fresh still hoppy beer, light bourbon, nice bitter dry finish. A good IPA made a little bit better with oak and a decent vanilla smoothness.

Amber pour with a nice sized off white head. Aroma is up front vanilla and citrus. Flavor is vanilla, oak, citrus and floral hops, caramel, and a bit of grass. Bitter finish but the vanilla from the bourbon counters it.

Dark golden color with a small, white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of vanilla, honey, bourbon, toast, and alcohol. Taste of honey, vanilla, citrus, pine, bourbon, and light alcohol as well.

Draft at the RBSG Grand Tasting. Dark orange/brown pour with very little head. Aroma is muddled. Bourbon, hops, some caramel malt. Pretty messy smelling. Makes me worried the barrel will ruin one of the better IPAs around. Flavor is more on point and delicious. Bourbon soaked hops. Bourbon caramel and bourbon toffee. Mmm. Slick palate. Nice beer.

Keg at the RBSG Grand Tasting. Pours a clear copper color with a medium tan head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of bourbon, nutty notes, toffee and leafy, earthy hops. The taste is bitter, leafy hops, bourbon and a bit of chocolate. Medium-full bodied. Nice beer.

Thank you Josh for sharing this one from! Poured a medium and clear orange color with a thin sized off white head. Aromas of whiskey/bourbon (more as it warmed up), with some woody/earthiness and a hint of vanillla. Tastes of bourbon, coconut, vanilla, wood, and citrus.

Tap at hopcat. Cloudy orange with white head. Aroma of citrus hops, sweetvbourbon and a hint of biscuit. Flavor is dominated by the oak aging, with much more subtle hints of pine, biscuit malts, and vanilla in the finish.

On tap at Shorts. Pours a clear orange with a white head. Aroma of bourbon and faint grainy malt. Flavor of bourbon with sweet malt and sweet citrus. I didn’t much care for it, but I’ve never been much of barrel-aged IPA fan.
