3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Domus Birrae. Basically this one seemed to me a watered down bourbon. Black color with red reflexes, short (an homage) dirty white head. Aroma of Bourbon (o rly?), booze, vanilla, corn, malt. Taste of Bourbon, vanilla, wood, dark fruits, malt, booze. light body and unbelievably the mouth feel results a little bit empty. You can note the schwarzbier character just if you want to. It is actually very drinkable end enjoyable because It has the taste and the aroma of bourbon but not its strength (like a bourbon...watered down?). I liked it indeed but i think they have to sustain the beer side much much more.

Bottled, 35,5 cl. A black beer with red edges and a foamy beige head. Aroma is hard roasted malts with sweet notes of butterscotch, oak and bourbon. Taste is sweet and smooth with notes of brown shugga, butterscotch, caramel, oak, vanilla and dark dried fruits. Medium body, very soft carbonation. Fruity slightly malt-bitter and vaguely tart finish with a long duration. Delicious.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle @ Danish Summer Gathering, Ulfborg 2011. #1000. I was lucky enough to have a decent beer for my 1000 rating, since that day we had a lot of crappy ones :D. Black color with a small creamy bege head. Roasted malty aroma, vanilla, caramel, bourbon, wood, alcohol. Tastes smooth roasty, with lots of bourbon and a sligthly alcoholic finish. Very nice nevertheless.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle:   Deep cola, moderate to thin foamy sand colored head, sparce lacing.   Soft woody nose,
definite Bourbon.   Underlying beer is unidentifiable.   Pale sweet maltiness on the tongue, bourbon, a little
medicinal aspects.   Not a heavy beer, in fact if its a Black Bier it certainly would explain why it doesn’t have
a lot malts.   Mild sweetness, very soft bitterness.   Certainly comes across as a Black Bier aged in Bourbon,
but the barrel aging certainly takes the heavy hand here.   Otherwise its fairly light.   Body and mouthfeel
are moderate, even a little thin perhaps.   Decent beer, but not as big nor maly as I would have liked.
Bourbon aging is fairly predominant, making the underlying beer overshadowed.   Had it a been a Porter, it would
have been much more interesting.   Decent beer, but more so a product of its aging versus the actual beer.
Thanks Derek for the brew!

2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
dark plum brown, thin white bubbled head. Dirty chocolate and vanilla bordering on tequila, marshmallow sweetness, no lager notes in nose. Ultra thin body, oily chocolate sugar and marshmallow, very sweet. I do not like Shorts.
