UPDATED: DEC 9, 2011 Bottle. Frothy lightbrown good mostly lasting head. Black colour. Moderate malty and light hoppy messy aroma. Moderate bitter flavor. Strong chocolate notes, alas exstremly messy beer due to the bourban barrel. Average moderate bitter not pleasent finish. Oily palate.

Bottled. Dark brown head with a red gleam. Light brown head. Aroma of spice, light roast, sweetness, vanilla and fruits. Flavour of vanilla and barrel, fruits, sweetness and light herbs. Medium to full bodied. Sweetish and spiced end.

On tap at HopCat during RBSG. Poured a black color with a large frothy brown head that was mostly lasting and produced excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy roasted malt, bourbon, wood and vanilla aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy roasted malt, bourbon and wood bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. Standout drinkable brew.

The aroma is a monster blend of heavy, acidic sourmash, moderate dark chocolate and a touch of vanilla. Medium-bodied with a watery mouthfeel and tingly carbonation. Thank you Derek for this 22oz bottle! Poured a dark brownish color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of wood/oak, vanilla, some bourbon, nutty, chocoalte, roast, and earthy. Tastes of vanilla, bourbon, dark fruits, chocolate, nuts, roast, and wood. Very nice!

Deep black pour with a sticky off-white head. The nose is fairly unusual. Toasty/cocoaish malt with a bit of lightly salty toasted malt. Fairly salty with a kiss of toasted malt and light cocoa on the back. Meh.
