Raisin, plum, grapes, and vanilla woody character as well. Tannic and full-bodied, booze is nicely covered. Warming and smooth, and overall a tasty barley wine.

Draft at the brewery. From memory of visit on 1/19/13. Aroma and taste was dominated by bourbon and raisins, with a hint of vanilla. Low complexity but fairly tasty. A decent barrel barleywine.

Growler: The aroma consists of chocolate, caramel, toffee, fruit, vanilla, and bourbon. It pours a dark brown with some orange highlights and a small beige head. The flavor starts with chocolate, caramel, and toffee. The finish has fruit, vanilla, bourbon, and faint citrus hops. It’s medium-full bodied with mild carbonation.

Draft in snifter. Milky, bourbon aroma, but not boozy. Caramel, with just a hint of fruit. Very smooth with no big alcohol kick.

Standard sweet flat barleywine base with a nice barrel treatment. The barrel character really made the beer with light bourbon vanilla and nutty tones.

Michigan Winter Beer Festival. Outstanding barley wine. Quite tangy with sweet notes. Bourbon barrel adds just the right amount of spice/tannin.

12oz bottle pours dark amber almost brown with off white head. minimal lacing on the glass. the aroma is of a barley wine style with kicks of bourbon, dark fruit (raisins) and alcohol. the flavor is of warm alcohol burn with the bourbon and fruit in the for front. wondering and thinking if you let this one age a year or so what changes will take place i have another bottle that will go in the vault for future use. the body is almost thin but yet the fruitiness of this is a bit on the strong side.
