Carrot Cake is an experimental dessert ale made with carrots, marshmallow, vanilla, maple syrup, orange zest, walnuts, pecans and spices. The aroma is enticing, emitting fragrances that literally recreate a slice of carrot cake, right down to the cream cheese frosting. Incredibly complex, yet surprisingly balanced, the flavor of each specialty ingredient seems to take its turn. Pleasant flavors of spice and cream resonate on the pallet causing an uncontrollable craving to taste more.

On tap at Sunset for their Shorts event prior to EBF. Pours a just clear orange brown. Spicy ginger, spices, raisins, and overall a big ol’ carrot cake aroma. Flavor follows the nose for the most part, but way too sweet. Sweet raisins and spice. Too sweet, full of caramel. Toasty and sweet on the finish. Novel and interesting, and it certainly does smell nice, but it was utterly cloying.
