dark golden pour with a light frothy white head. Aroma is citrus, grapefruit, some resin, light earthiness, moderate amounts of sweet caramel malt. Flavor is sweet citrus hop, bitter orange peel, grapefruit, caramel, a touch of burnt caramel, orange zest. Yum. Great stuff

Bottle. Poured a medium clear honey color. Frothy while head. Very good lacing. Excellent earthy aroma. Hoppy flavor, but it doesn’t live up to the aroma. Overall decent IPA. Mouthfeel not as intense as some. Crisp, dry, and very drinkable, but with so many great Michigan IPA this one doesn’t stand out.

Bottle courtesy of daknole. Thank you sir. Poured a hazy dark orange with a decent sized white head. Left a good bit of lace. Aroma was full of that classic fruity Simcoe character. Lots of citrus, light pine, then some nutty malt in the background. Overall a well rounded IPA with lots of hops on all fronts. Lightly carbonated, medium to light body. Good stuff, would make for a fantastic session.

Bottle; Pour is cloudy gold with a decent frothy off white head that retains fairly well into this shaker - spotty lacing is present here as well. Toasted is certainly the word of the day when describing this brew - for i find it to be the predominant aroma and flavor. A bit of creaminess is present from the head here. Toasted caramel malt up front with a citrus hop note with a lingering bitterness on the tongue. The hop profile seems muted in my glass, which makes me question whether the brew is too far gone. Perhaps.

12 oz. bottle from Oades Big Ten Ar: Caramelized orange peel along with some floral notes. Ap: Pours a medium copper with a 1" pillowy head that leaves great rings of lace. T: Mildly toast caramel malt up front gives way to a well hopped finish with notes of herbs and citrus. P: Standard IPA body, maybe a touch watery. O: Pretty standard IPA, leaning a bit on the caramelly side.

Aroma has crisp citrus hops, not too bitter. Flavor doesn’t linger, crisp, nice citrus hops and finishes on the dry side which is nice.

12 oz bottle. Pours orange gold with a white head. Great spicy, citrus, and floral hop aroma. Flavor leans more toward grassy and herbal flavors, though the spice and citrus are still certainly there. Light bitterness and medium palate. Pretty nice.

Reviewed from notes. Pours a nice amber color with a bit of haze and a white head. Nose brings some really nice citrus and floral hops. Strong notes coming through throughout, getting better as it warms. The taste brings a bit of sweet malt without as many hops as were in the nose. Good feel with a moderate amount of bitterness. Drinks well and I was glad to try one of the "normal" offerings from Short’s, as it had been awhile since I’d visited with their APA and the like. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 10-25-2010

Bottle. Poured clear copper color with an average frothy white head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate complex hop aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Moderate bittersweet flavor with a moderate bittersweet finish of medium duration. Very good brew.
