COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
ControversiALE, FKA Hangin’ Frank, is a tribute to Simcoe hops. Simcoe hops are extremely sought after and limited, so Short’s is excited to share this brew with Michigan craft beer lovers every spring. The earthy, citrus and pine-laced aroma is instantly delectable. A large amount of toasted grains and high alpha hops form a perfect union that creates the sensation of toasted sourdough covered with grapefruit hop marmalade. While this beer is hopped like IPA, it drinks like Pale Ale. The light, refreshing qualities of this beer make it perfect for springtime.

Bottle, pours a dark amber, bottle had was a stale one, the hops had faded, the taste was a bit of grassy hops, overall if it was a fresh bottle I can see this being pretty good

from Erzbierschof - clear reddish-amber beer with a poor head retention; piney and resiney hoppiness with notes of apricots and apples; medium-bodied, light sticky and decently bitter; quite dry and long fruity hoppy finish with more notes of pine needles

Orange, white head. Smells of strange hops and pine. Moderate sweet, medium bitter, resins. Something strange is in this beer for sure

Bottle from Erzbierschof, Bern
Hazy orange-amber color with medium head. It still has quite nice hoppy aroma, with evident cereals, light toffee and bread. Dry mouthfeel, with strong toffee and cereals flavor; quite strong bitterness, nice hop resins, not much fruits. The body is a bit thinner than a typical IPA.
Good, not very fresh actually.
