COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
ControversiALE, FKA Hangin’ Frank, is a tribute to Simcoe hops. Simcoe hops are extremely sought after and limited, so Short’s is excited to share this brew with Michigan craft beer lovers every spring. The earthy, citrus and pine-laced aroma is instantly delectable. A large amount of toasted grains and high alpha hops form a perfect union that creates the sensation of toasted sourdough covered with grapefruit hop marmalade. While this beer is hopped like IPA, it drinks like Pale Ale. The light, refreshing qualities of this beer make it perfect for springtime.

Pours a cloudy orange with copper hue, small white head, decent lacing. Aroma of herbal and citrus hops, strong earthy character, resin, and a mild toasted malt backbone. Flavor matches well and makes for nice refreshing brew, but very forgetable.

Easy little brew from Shorts, it makes my Piggly’s all Wiggly. Strong Simcoe Hop aroma, hat golden hue, thin white head and a delicious bitter hop citrus flava. Holla!!!

Bottle. Pours a clear light copper with a white head. Aromas of pine, citrus and toffee. Buttery rich toffee flavors, pine needles, brown sugar, bready tones and resiny hops. Well balanced. Rich. Definitely not a hop bomb, but assertively hoppy. Slightly oily mouth feel. Very nice.

Pours a hazy deep yellow. Thin white head with sticky lacing. Kind of a dry cardboard smell. Flavor is pure fresh hops.

Bitter finish Body: medium and some carbonation. Parting thoughts: 2nd beer from short’s does not disappoint.

12oz bottle from the Malt Shoppe in Tosa. Deep orange pour, little head. Some streaky lace. Aroma has sweet malts, florals, pine and citrus. Somewhat muted. The alpha acids kick in down in the glass. Taste is of sweet toffee, grapefruit, some pineapple, chewy resin. Medium bodied, with some alcohol. The blend is solid. Finishes to the bitter side of bittersweet. Solid fairly tasty brew. Liked the 78 better. 13.8
