Pub Brew. Devil’s Lettuce is a wet hopped India Pale lager brewed with fresh hops from Empire Hop Farms in Empire, MI. The aroma is full of citrus zest and subtle spice. Low malt flavors allow for forward hoppy attributes. These hoppy flavors range from fruity lemon to earthy grassiness. A clean lager finish amplifies the overall bitterness which resonates across the palate.

Devil’s Lettuce is the first wet hopped Bellaire pub beer. Wet hopped means the hops were picked fresh just hours before the brew.

Tap at 2014 Fall MBG Fest. Clear gold pour, small head. Dank aroma loaded with spruce, pine, citrus and light pot. Tastes delicious. Pine, spruce, flowers, grass, and citrus. Crisp finish. Loved it.

UPDATED: SEP 1, 2014 Tap: Bright, goldenrod body with a mild chill haze off the bat & a modest layer of white foam that sits quietly on top. Aroma is loaded with sticky hop oils, dankness, oranges, wet grapefruit, sweet bread, grass, citrus peels, & a finishing crispness from the yeast. Taste is very similar - very sharp & crisp up front, most likely from the lagering yeast. Bread, crackers, dry, dry, dry! Lots of grassy hops, dank hops, & sharp citric notes with grapefruit peel, faint white pepper, & mild finishing orange. Dry, crisp, clean finish with a hint of cracker-y malt & breaded yeast. Shorts does a lot of hoppy brews (& even hoppy lagers)... this is one of my favorites in recent memory. I really hope this finds its way into bottles soon.

On tap at shorts. Pours transparent amber with thin fine head.aroma of citrus hops and light malt. Mouthfeel is light to medium. Taste with bready dry ( wet hopped) hops. Better balance than most wet hopped brews I have had. Flowery finish. Not to heavy. Really nicely balanced wet hopped brew.
