COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dr. Zeus is brewed with a combination of English Ale yeast and bold American Zeus hops. This combination creates a unique sharp nose of spicy herbs and tart lemon. Noticeable grassy and straw hop flavors, intermixed with slight peppery notes, outweighs the grain contributions from the smaller malt bill. An intense bitterness takes over, before leading into a dry finish.

Pailhead (5097) - Brownstown, Michigan, USA - DEC 24, 2014
Bottle: The aroma consists of moderate citrus, light melon, lemon, and faint herbal notes. It pours a transparent golden-orange with a one finger white head that eventually fades to a thin film outlined by a thicker ring. There is a good amount of thin webbing left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with moderate citrus, light lemon, and melon. The finish has moderate floral, grassy, and piney hops with some light lemon peel and hints of dank notes. It’s light-medium bodied with light-moderate carbonation.

tectactoe (2343) - Michigan, USA - DEC 23, 2014
Bottle: Super cloudy, yellow & burnt golden body with a soapy off-white head that recedes quickly to a foamy collar. Aroma is full of semi-herbal & semi-earthy hops, leaves, citrus rind, a touch of soapiness, faint melon, & a hint of lemon zest. Light undertones of oily pine as well. Flavor has a strong herbal, white pepper element, somewhat spicy but certainly all from the hoppage. Zesty with notes of lemon verbena, grapefruit peel, pine, hemp oil, bitter tangerine zest, & just a hint of cracker malt. Citrusy zest finish. Dry, crisp, & clean. Shorts, killing it with the hoppy beers per usual.

Nephilium (1416) - Ohio, USA - DEC 22, 2014
Moderate citrus and piney aroma from the hops. Pours a cloudy amber with a thin white head. There’s some grassy and floral notes in the flavor, going to a touch of sweet malts. Fading to a medium bitter finish, with a light body, and it’s very easy drinking. A nice session IPA, a bit weak for a standard IPA.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 11/12/2014. Pours fairly hazy/cloudy deep golden color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, herbal, floral, grass, bread, light honey, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/pine hops and moderate bready malt balance; with solid strength. Taste of big grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, herbal, floral, grass, bread, light honey, and floral/grassy earthiness. Good amount of pine/grassy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, lemon/orange zest, pine, bread, light honey, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity and robustness of citrus/pine hops and moderate bready malt sweetness; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Surprisingly clean for an English IPA, minimal fruity esters are present in the taste and aromas. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, fairly crisp/sticky, and lightly creamy/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with no warming present after the finish as expected of 4.8%. Overall this is a very good English IPA style. All around good balance, robustness, and complexity of citrus/pine hops and moderate bready malt balance; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Smells sweet and fruity. Looks nice bright lightly hazy orange color. Small white foam head. Taste good definitely has some biterness and a peppery tart citrus nodes.

12oz bottle...very easy drinking session IPA with the taste of fresh, ripe peaches over a citrus background and a mildly bitter finish. Tasty

On tap at the brewpub. Golden pour with a light white head. Hops in the aroma and taste. Nice IPA hop bite in the finish Another good IPA from Joe.
