UPDATED: FEB 20, 2013 On tap at the brewpub. Dark brown pour with almost no head. Coffee aroma and taste. Kind of a watery Bellaire Brown but a good session beer nonetheless.

Bottle. Dark red-brown color with a small tan head. Some caramel sweetness in the aroma. Roasted malt flavor. Easy drinking but void of much flavor.

Very biscuity with some slight chocolate flavors and slight metally tartness. Not particularly into this one.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from mikem409, thanks Mike! Pours a root beer color with a rapidly disappearing head. Virtually no lace. Aroma has chocolatey and caramel malts. Further down in the glass, bits of brown sugar and some earthiness show through. Taste is of sweet caramel, light brown sugar, some molasses and fruit, and something vegetal. Medium bodied with no alcohol presence. Finishes sweet and lightly vegetal, just without much depth. More than was expected; the taste needed to live up to the aroma to be better. 13.1

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
This one pours a mildly dark brown color with a strong bubbly head. Has a strange hop caramel aroma. It has a watery taste overall with a slight carbonation. A dirty wheat note. Very thin feel. Not much flavor at all. A deep dark malt flavor. A mild pepper spice back feel. A very light drink. Not one of my favorites of the night.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Soft dark chocolate brown pour. Creamy mocha tan head. Weird aroma, chocolate milk and apple skins, papery with some sweetness. Not too crazy about the flavor, papery and roast stretched too thin. Kind of watery. Lean with some chalky notes.

12oz bottle. Thanks to umich03jm! Mostly clear, very dark red color. Appears brown. Thin khaki head. Few short ridges of lace. Lighter body. Smooth, kind of crisp, lighter carbonation. Lightly dry finish. Good nutty, kind of light dark chocolatey aroma. Nice light earthy hop. Good moderate bitter taste, light sweet. Solid, flavorful, crushable, easy drinking dark mild ale. Good one to wash my sandwich down with. May have gone down too quick, maybe.
