• A noble spirit of the sacred humulus lupulus governing all the good of what is bitter
• Beer Type: Imperial IPA

Imperial Good Feller is an Imperial American India Pale Ale brewed exclusively with Amarillo and Simcoe hop varieties. Hop forward flavors of sweet grapefruit and bitter orange rind are backed by a simple malt bill allowing for a vibrant bitterness to project, but not overwhelm the finish.

On tap at the Shorts anniversary party. Wasn’t too sure about this one. A lot of copper red flavors. Also a strong hop note that flows through the whole drink. Not the best of the event but not the worst.

Tap @ Shorts: Muddy, almost brown-ish color with a beige tinted head survived as a chunky collar. Aroma of sticky caramel malt & dank, dripping hop oils, pine needles, & floral perfume notes. Notable crystal malt sweetness, offset by an abundance of stingy, bitter hops. Taste is equally bitter & sweet all at once; sweet toffee-like & crystal malts are met with a heavily floral, stinging hop bite. Tons of brash pine & super bitter grapefruit peels teeter with sweet & sticky malt undertones. I normally dislike darker malted D/IPAs, but this one was actually okay, mostly due to the super abrasive hop profile. I would imagine that with any appreciable age, this beer would falter big-time.

Dark brown-amber beer, cloudy. Frothy tan head. Very dark for an IPA! Soft palate, a little dry. Deep rich hops. Marmaladey grapefruit, fairly bitter. Aniseed spice. Satisfying and sophisticated.

(Bottle) Pours deep amber with a small sand coloured head. The aroma holds hoppy notes of wood, black currant, resin, apricots, citrus and new cut grass. Floral, grapefruity and tropical (mango) undertones. Honey, caramel and toffee to back it up. The flavour is near medium sweet and medium to heavily bitter with notes of grapefruit, oranges, apricot, resin, wood, flowers, toffee, caramel and honey. The mouthfeel is soft, light sticky and a bit numbing. Lingering bitterness. Medium to full bodied.

Luminescent deep orange pour. Aroma has raisins, chocolate, vanilla, oak, thick malt, quite oxidized (old bottle), some candy and brown sugar. Thick and oxidized with pine, oak, oil, booze, syrup - more like a BW.
