COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Good Humans was created to showcase one of Briess Malting Company’s new malt varieties. Originally planned as a one-time thing, it quickly became one of our big successes. Good Humans is a Double Brown Ale made with Carabrown Malt, and then dry hopped with Simcoe hops. The brew has sweet malty esters that are met by huge toasted caramel and toffee flavors. The finish is dry with a bouquet of hops.

Bottle shared @ Dean’s Sticky Floor Tasting II. Pours hazy chestnut with a thin white head. The aroma is light, and I find it hard to describe - there’s a sweetness and a grassiness. Taste matches the aroma

Draft at HOTB. Aroma of nuts and caramel. Extremely good mouthfeel. Velvety. Creamy. Texture is outstanding. Medium-heavy body. Hazelnut notes and some roasted malts lead the way to a smooth beer. Well done brown. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sampled on draft at Hou Thou this beer poured a dark brown color with orange highlights and a medium sized foamy cream colored head that left good lacing. The aroma was toasty malts, graham cracker and dust. The flavor was toasty and dusty with a sawdust presence, cracker, wood and a bit of fruity hops. Surprisingly dry. Long finish. Medium body. Alcohol well controlled. Disappointing.

Pours brown with small head, notes of pumpernickel, ashy rye, and bready malt. Maybe decent for an English type but not a big fan overall.

Tap industry. A darker beer. Mild cloying sweet perfume aroma. Simultaneously bitter and sweet at the same time on the tongue. What a unique combination for a beer, never had anything like this that I can remember. Big upfront alky kick. Nearly flat. Wew, overall experience hides alky well but you know yer catching a buzz at the end of the session.

Good toffee and caramel malt smell with an undertone of hops and booze. Muddy brown the terms almost a cherry red when backlit. The would be overpowering boozy flavor is quickly deterred by the floral hops. Leaves your mouth with a good dry feeling at 10 of bitters on your tongue

This brew pours a deep amber color with a medium off-white head that diminishes gradually. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast malt butterscotch and fruit. Medium body with flavors of caramel malt, fruit and mild earthy hops. The finish is sweet with a toffee and malt aftertaste. Decent overall.

12 oz. bottle on Christmas Eve, served in a shaker- poured a darkened brown with a maroon tint when held to a light source, low carbonation, thick off white head with a solid ring about the vessel and alot of frog eyes. Aroma of nuts, toffee, and a hint of molasses. Hits the mouth with a medium body, feels like a roasted malt on the back end of the tongue, middle has a spot of cream, finish is sweet, nutty, and dry. WOOHOO!- that’s what I wrote in my notebook, it must have been real good!

Pour out of 12 oz bottle, dark orange red pour with slightly off white head, aroma brought notes of big toast, caramel, toffee, some slight spice, dark cocoa, pine, grass. Taste was a mix of orange, grass, spice into some biscuit, slight toast, caramel, finishing slightly bitter.

Strong brown ale from Michigan, with thin but stable, pale greyish beige head and clear, deep but translucent brown robe with a beautiful glowing vermillion hue. Inviting aroma of mandarin peel, blood orange, chocolate candy, home made caramel, nutmeg, blackcurrant, kahlua, dried forest leaves, candied figs. Pleasantly sweet onset, candied cherry, orange and brown sugar but nothing cloying and in fact quite refreshing thanks to the citrussy quality surrounding it; soft and smooth, somewhat oily mouthfeel, consisting of a lovely, clean caramelly malt sweetness with clear chocolate accent, flowing down the throat with ease and supporting a peppery, citrusy, aromatic and spicy hop bitterness in the end as well as a glow of warming, brandy-like alcohol, which is noticeable even in terms of taste and therefore could have been a bit better hidden. Apart from that, this is a lovely, tasty brew, clean and well-balanced between sweet and bitter, with a delightful warming quality. An ideal autumn beer, glad I picked this one from the cellar on this late October Sunday...
