Good Humans was created to showcase one of Briess Malting Company’s new malt varieties. Originally planned as a one-time thing, it quickly became one of our big successes. Good Humans is a Double Brown Ale made with Carabrown Malt, and then dry hopped with Simcoe hops. The brew has sweet malty esters that are met by huge toasted caramel and toffee flavors. The finish is dry with a bouquet of hops.

Pour out of 12 oz bottle, dark orange red pour with slightly off white head, aroma brought notes of big toast, caramel, toffee, some slight spice, dark cocoa, pine, grass. Taste was a mix of orange, grass, spice into some biscuit, slight toast, caramel, finishing slightly bitter.

Strong brown ale from Michigan, with thin but stable, pale greyish beige head and clear, deep but translucent brown robe with a beautiful glowing vermillion hue. Inviting aroma of mandarin peel, blood orange, chocolate candy, home made caramel, nutmeg, blackcurrant, kahlua, dried forest leaves, candied figs. Pleasantly sweet onset, candied cherry, orange and brown sugar but nothing cloying and in fact quite refreshing thanks to the citrussy quality surrounding it; soft and smooth, somewhat oily mouthfeel, consisting of a lovely, clean caramelly malt sweetness with clear chocolate accent, flowing down the throat with ease and supporting a peppery, citrusy, aromatic and spicy hop bitterness in the end as well as a glow of warming, brandy-like alcohol, which is noticeable even in terms of taste and therefore could have been a bit better hidden. Apart from that, this is a lovely, tasty brew, clean and well-balanced between sweet and bitter, with a delightful warming quality. An ideal autumn beer, glad I picked this one from the cellar on this late October Sunday...

Bottle. Cloudy amber with short beige head. Aroma is dark fruits, pine, and citrus. Medium body and light carbonation, with some alcohol warmth. Sweet flavor with hints of raisins and licorice, followed by slight bitterness of citrus and pine. Interesting brew.

Bottle from sheffield tap. Dark ruby brown with a short lived head. The aroma is malty with cereal and honey and juicy fruity hops, also get a bit dusty dryness. Taste is incredibly mild Considering the abv, slight sweetness and slight bitterness. Very oily thick body with good level of carb. Nice beer

Bottle, Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Good looking label. Dark brown pour with a small off white head. Nose had notes of choc, caramel and spice alongside a little hoppage. Flavour revealed some sweet malts, dark fruits, earth and piney hop. Lingering dry bitter finish. Interesting and enjoyable stuff.
