A complex malt and hop theme park in your mouth
Huma Lupa Licious’ name derives from the hop plant, Humulus lupulus. It is Short’s best-selling India Pale Ale. Huma Lupa Licious is brewed with five different hop varieties, providing a punch to the palate. Between the beer’s abundance of hops, and the type of hops used in its creation, it has a delicious bitter taste and enticing citrus aroma. The hearty malt bill melds well with the hops for a perfect balance.

Huma Lupa Licious is the product of Joe Short wanting to create the ultimate IPA experience. Originally, Huma Lupa Licious was named Humulus Lupulus Maximus, and went through several recipe changes before settling on the recipe we know and love today.

Nice big citrus punch in the nose, pours a mostly clear light amber with a ring of white head. This is a big blast of hops, going to a long bitter finish. Slightly slick mouthfeel, with some caramel peaking through at the beginning. This is one delicious IPA, if you like hop bombs, try it.

There are few beers as bold and flavorful as this. Shorts can hang their hat on this bad boy.

Assertive and traditional pine/citrus hop aroma and flavor profile. Nicely balanced for a high IBU with sweet malty backbone that gives way to a dry hoppy finish.

On tap poured into a shaker. The aromas are pretty prevalent caramel and citrus, with a light floral and pine note. It’s a slightly hazy amber orange with a light, white head with some faint lacing. The taste is highly bitter with a mellow, medium sweet malty undertone. It’s a bit on the thicker side for an IPA, but not too bad ... moderate viscous with abundant, active carbonation. The body is medium-full with a grapefruit, resin, warm caramel, toast and a slightly piney finish. Maybe more on the citrus peel side. The aftertaste is short and clean, mostly a traditional resin and grapefruit feel. Great example of a classic American-style IPA.

I love huma-lupa-licious! It is more on the hoppier side and is delicious. I get this beer almost every single time I see that a bar has is on tap.

One of the best in the business. I get this shipped in from Michigan. This ipa has a unique finish. Very tasty. Even better on draft

A very hoppy beer with lots of spicy notes in there as well. I would not suggest drinking a lot of them; felt somewhat heavy to me

Bottle. Mild hop aroma. Hazy amber colour. Small frothy white head. The flavour is nicely hoppy, with some grapefruit. Has a little yeasty note. Ends on a rather bitter and slightly rough note.

Bottle. Pours slightly hazy amber with small white head. Clear aroma of hops with notes of fruit and malt and touches of caramel. Bitter, hoppy flavour, with citric touches and a bitter, grassy finish. Decent.
