COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A complex malt and hop theme park in your mouth
Huma Lupa Licious’ name derives from the hop plant, Humulus lupulus. It is Short’s best-selling India Pale Ale. Huma Lupa Licious is brewed with five different hop varieties, providing a punch to the palate. Between the beer’s abundance of hops, and the type of hops used in its creation, it has a delicious bitter taste and enticing citrus aroma. The hearty malt bill melds well with the hops for a perfect balance.

Huma Lupa Licious is the product of Joe Short wanting to create the ultimate IPA experience. Originally, Huma Lupa Licious was named Humulus Lupulus Maximus, and went through several recipe changes before settling on the recipe we know and love today.

Bottle thanks to Bigmmartin. Pours a goldish-brown with a thin white head, great lacing. Aroma is very hoppy, with a solid malt backbone. Notes of pine, citrus, and bread stand out. The palate is much lighter than I expected. Flavor brings out an earthy flavor. After taste leaves a nice bitter bite.

Catching up ratings........ On tap at Detroit Airport. Pours a clear yellow with no head. Aroma of tropical and citrus fruits and resin. Taste of grapefruit, mango, peach, resin, and some pine. Medium body and pretty dry. Very good IPA.

bottle. Poured hazy medium amber with a creamy off-white head. Fresh perfumery hop aroma. Full bodied, prickly dry mouthfeel with an astringent finish. Flavour is all hop, peppery, herbal, tart citrus notes. This beer delivers a punch, a nice sipper.

pours a hazy light amber with a thick tan head. nice soapy lacing. aroma is piney citrus hops, toasted malt, and tropical fruit. Taste starts sweet and gradually becomes resinous. Ridiculous how balanced this is. Medium body and carbonation with creamy/slick mouth fell. Finishes very dry. My favorite shorts product yet. Not a big shorts fan, but this is really good.

Attractive copper color with minimal, pretty light tan head. Hoppy aroma, pine, with a touch of spice, particularly clove. Hoppy taste, mostly the hop bitterness, no pronounced single hop flavor - just as you might expect from a beer made with 5 different hop varieties. A bit of citrus and pine but not a one dimensionally hop bomb. Lacks the complexity, and for my own taste, the hop balance of a great IPA, but still quite enjoyable - a good IPA.

Bottle to taster Rye malt, grapefruit, lots of pine, some flowers, and pepper. It’s a clear light amber with a creamy 1/2 cm off white head. Taste is fruity, grapefruit, pine resin, lots of bitterness. Not a sessional IPA, but a great starter to any night.

"A complex malt and hop theme park in your mouth", sounds the advertisement on the bottle. American IPA with thick, gradually collapsing, sticky, pale yellowish head and warm orange blonde colour, clear with steady sparkling but turning a bit brownish after adding the deposit. Resinous hoppy aroma with grapefruit, mango, orange peel, mint, cloves, pine needles; fruity onset with light citrus touch, smooth and ’calm’ mouthfeel, some malt sweetness, quickly overwhelmed by a very intense, grassy and peppery hop bitterness reminiscent of grapefruit and tonic water, cloyingly dry, some yeast bitterness after adding deposit, complex and very satisfying. Great IPA.
