750ml bottle 283/912 10/24/09 (Shorts Brewery)-Pours black with a small tan head which emits an aroma of chocolate with a hint of coffee. Taste of the same with the carob or chocolate becoming more prominent on the back end. This medium to full bodied brew is very tasty and well balanced. Another great brew from Shorts.

2008 Bottle Pours out a very dark brown almost black topped with a small tan head. Aroma was of dark roast coffee, dark chocolate and some vanilla. Taste the vanilla shows pretty well along with some sweet mike chocolate. Nice and thick the way I like my Imperial Stouts. Thanks Toby

2008 Bottle - Thanks Toby! - Pours dk brown with a nice, medium sized beige head...aroma is very inviting, cocoa and coffee, slight heat, roasty malt...flavour is similar, I actually hate the taste of carob after being forced to eat it when I was younger, and this beer tasted way more chocolatey than caroby, which is why I enjoyed it...cocoa, vanilla creme, roast, light licorice...thick and warming, very tasty stuff...

Opaque black color with a small, tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of chocolate, anise, smoke, roasted malts, coffee, some vanilla and caramel. Taste of anise, chocolate, roasted malts, nuts, and vanilla, with a dry, roasty finish.

Pours a deep black with a smaller bubbly dark tan head. Aroma of dark bitter chocolate, coffee, light alcohol, earthy and light smoke. Flavor of dark chocolate, smoke, nuts, coffee, cocoa and some fruity notes. Body was a bit thin but the flavor was right on.
