12 oz. bottle, sent from northernbrews (thanks Jeff), pours an opaque dirty orange with a tiny white head. Nose screams limes above anything, with maybe a bit of the graham crackers buried deep under. Flavour is much sweeter than the nose suggests, probably from the marshmallows, as they are quite prominent, and then the lime comes in adding only very mild sourness. Quite a bit sweeter than expected, but certainly not cloying. As I’m not a huge lime fan in beer, this was substandard, but for what the concept was, it’s passable.

Awful. Strong lime, which is good, on the start. But has a decaying indescribable taste on the finish. Could not even muscle one pint down.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Served on tap in a pint glass at Red Baron.
Inside my pint glass is a hazy orange amber beer with just a few stray bubbles floating around the edge of the glass.
The aroma is less intense than I would prefer, but it is spot on key lime pie. Graham cracker, lime, and cream are all present over a thin malt base.
Getting a beer to taste like key lime pie is a brewing accomplishment, even with all of the adjuncts that Short’s used. The beer has a nice progression - first the flavor is sweet and tangy, representing the sweet side of the custard filling. Next the graham cracker crust comes in, bringing a malty, vanilla, and cinnamon sweetness with it. Finally the lime bursts through in a tart way, wrapping up the flavor with pizzazz.
The carbonation is gentle and falls in between crisp and creamy. There are a lot of residual sugars in here that leave my mouth feeling sticky. The body drinks a little bit above the 5% ABV, although not by much. The creamy lactose and unfermented sugars definitely add to the viscosity of the ber.
This is a fun beer from Short’s that is worth trying fresh on tap.

I try to be as open minded as possible. This, however tastes like one of those cloying Asian premade marinades from the grocery store. Not for me.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle shared @ work. Pours a light golden with small white head. Sweet aroma here! Graham cracker, lime, sweet marshmallow, and some bready malts stand out. Flavor is light and easy drinking with tons of lime, sugar, and a slight tang. Different to say the least and I would say this was executed well. Could probably only drink one after a meal though...

Bottle. Tart lactic lime, subtle graham aroma. Hazy amber with a small beige head. Sour lactic lime, graham, yeasty malt flavor. Medium body and carbonation. Just not my thing. I like key lime pie, but this is gross.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
From the September 2012 3R6P gathering. Wow, they really managed to capture the essence of key lime pie +++ Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a caramel color with a small soapy white head that faded instantly and left a bit of lacing. The aroma was tart, dry, chalky, lime and bread. The flavor was tart and sour key lime, gram cracker and chalk. Long key lime, bread and graham cracker finish. Light to medium body. Odd but very interesting.

Poured from a bottle received just this morning from UncleRudy and company. Thank you once again. Pours a hazy light copper with a thinner white head of foam. In the aroma the lime zest really comes through strong. There’s an interesting creamy note to the beer as well. Some bready Graham cracker comes through in the finish. Interesting beer, but I don’t think its my thing, really. I expected to really like this beer, but its just a little too astringent for me.

2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle thanks to mikem409. Pours an opaque golden brown with a very small head. A few tiny pieces of....something...floating on top, no clue what, certainly not yeast. Aroma is heavy lime, key lime pie, and soy sauce. Taste is a lot of lime with some graham cracker, surprisingly bitter and not sweet enough. Finish is bitter, tastes of lime pith. Light-medium body, moderate carbonation. Sounds interesting and tasty on paper, but not good at all.

draft at brewery. Pours a rich amber color and darker than I was expecting. The nose is mainly lime. The taste is weird for sure. Actually does taste like a key lime dessert. Light and crisp and finishes clean.
