A light bodied, heavily hopped, amber colored lager with predominant hop aromas of tropical fruit with compliments of sweet malt. The sole hop, Falconer’s Flight, has characteristics of dank earth and grassy hay-like flavors are balanced slightly by some full grain attributes before a big bitter shock strikes the back of the pallet and resonates sharply.

Pours a hazy to murky copper-amber with a fair off-white head that settles and leaves some thick webby lace. Nose involves some caramel, candied orange, pine forest, grapefruit, and toasted malt. Fairly sweet, quite bitter toward intensely so. Lighter to medium bodied, active, bright with hops, juicy, and finishing dry and mouthwatering. Really nice brew, very flavorful with hops and a nice underlying malt quality.

12 ounce bottle into lager glass, bottled on 6/22/2013. Pours lightly hazy orange copper color with a 1 finger dense cream colored head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers, Light spotty lacing clings down the glass, with some light streaming carbonation. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, mango, orange zest, lemon zest, pineapple, peach, floral, pine, grass, caramel, toast, bread, and floral/yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good complexity of hop notes with a moderate malt balance; and good strength. Taste of grapefruit, tangerine, mango, pineapple, lemon zest, orange zest, peach, pine, floral, grass, caramel, toast, bread, and floral/yeast earthiness. Good amount of earthy pine resin bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus, citrus zest, pineapple, mango, peach, pine, floral, grass, caramel, toast, bread, and floral earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice balance and complexity of hop flavors; with a fair amount of malt balance and zero cloying bitterness after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a lightly creamy, smooth, and moderately sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice IPL style! All around good balance and complexity of hop flavors with a fair amount of malt balance; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Pours an amber color with a foamy white head. Aroma is citrus and pine hops. Flavor is similar, quite bitter. Now I’m confused whether this is a lager or ale, but either way it’s quite good.

Semi-clear amber colored beer with beige head. Nose grass, caramel, white pepper, oranges. Medium body, very smooth, initial caramel sweetness balanced with grassy, and grapefruit hops, finishing with slightly dry hoppy finish. Impressively balanced and drinkable, very delicious and impressive.

Lil' Wheezy pours a yellowish orange with a beige head that lasts a while and leaves nice lacing. The aroma is leafy and earthy with hint of spice and and biscuits. The flavor is biscuits and leafy hops. Overall this is a good beer. Quite enjoyable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Hazy copper pour with a medium sized creamy head that fades to a thick film and leaves a bunch of lacing. Great appearance. Aromas are toasted bread, toffee candy, dank hops, pine, and light caramel. Tastes great. Slightly burnt toast, pine, pot, and toffee. Kinda spicy in the finish too. The high yet soft carbonation gives it a great mouthfeel. Love this.

Bottled some time in July... most of the numbers are scratched away. At least I got the most important one. Poured into a shaker pint... sigh. :( Appearance: Appropriately enough, a slightly hazy amber color. That’s about it. A finger of a light tan head sits on top with a creamy consistency. Lacing’s almost sip-for-sip from top to bottom. The label is, as most Short’s labels are, great. An owl that looks stoned out of his mind smoking a pipe. Also like that purple background. Smell: Somewhat sweet, but without any real fruity characteristics. I’d attribute that to the malts. The hops on display are slightly spicy, earthy hops, which work well with the "gritty" sort of malt that is in Lil’ Wheezy. Taste/feel: Yeah, it is what’s advertised. It’s a hoppy amber. Pretty much exactly the same as the smell, except with a bit more of that dirt sort of malt flavor on the finish. Solid bitterness on the back of the tongue. The aftertaste is the big thing that lets you know that this is an amber. The aroma and initial taste sort of tastes like a standard IPA until you get the malts. The feel is fairly light without much carbonation. Lil’ Wheezy’s a pretty good beer. As it warms up, the beer becomes more like an amber as the malts come out a bit more. This beer’s a bit too bitter for my liking as an amber, but it’s still a very nice beer.
