COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A gentle mixture of elegance and redolence for any occasion.
Northern Michigan spiced wheat ale. A 50% mixture of premium two-row malted barley and malted white wheat makes golden wheat ale balanced with Ahtanum and Cascade hop varieties. This ale is spiced with fresh grated lemon and orange rind, coriander, and black peppercorns. Itís truly a fermented wonder of the Shortís Brew formula family.

Bottle pour light gold with moderate white head that rapidly dissipate. Nose coriander, lemon peel, peppercorns, spruce. Taste very spicy up front almost like cleaner. Peppercorns, lemon, and fruity wheat.

Citrus aromas are present though not as prominent as you might think from the added lemon and orange zest. Coriander and pepper are clear though again not overwhelming. Not much malt, just a touch of biscuit. Color is a pale yellow with a fairly good-sized white head. Taste is peppery, with light to medium bitterness and fairly dry sweetness. The palate is light bodied, just a bit thin, perhaps just slightly lively carbonation and a long finish that starts with just a light hint of sweetness and then goes into a long peppery finish. Overall while it is not might favorite style, itís not bad. The lemon/orange zest is restrained; the pepper and coriander start slow but come more to the fore and stay there as you continue to drink. Interesting.

Aroma spices/black peppercorns and wheat. The flavor is orange zest, mild coriander, wheat and a citrus/spicy finish.

On tap at Hopcat. Pours cloudy pale. Low aroma. Getting orange and overwhelming malt character. Good wheat beer.

For a wheat ALE itís actually quite nice. Slightly lighter in color for an ale, and could use a tiny bit of haze (there is none). Aroma has nice spice and good hops balance for the combo. Taste is a little overpowering in the ale department, but some yeasty flavors show up. Mouth is crisp upfront and settles to a bit sweet. Bottle

Tap at St Ceceís Detroit. Slight hazy golden with white head. Lots of herbs, coriander, definately get a lot of black pepper, lemon peel, dough, mustard seeds, bread. Light sweet and very light bitter. Medium bodied with soft creamy feel. Exactly what youíd expect.

Pours a clear pale golden with a decent rocky eggshell head that settles slowly and leaves some foamy, wavy lace. Nose involves subtle spice, zesty lemon citrus, some herbal and almost minty tea-like notes. Somewhat sweet, lightly tart, and somewhat bitter. Light bodied, spritzy and active, lightly oily, finishing dry with herbal zest. Definitely ideal for summer, nice take on the ubiquitous wheat ale. Much easier drinking and lively than many Iíve had.

The most I get in this is pepper. Fairly light and refreshing just a bit too much pepper. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz bottle shared with ebone1988 out of Dumpster Box No. 1. The pour is a nice dark gold color with a thinner soapy white head and a couple spots of lace. The aroma is awful. It's everything I hate about wheat ales and then there is a blast of coriander, which sucks. There is a light peppercorn and a hint of zest, which is the best I can say about this. Dear god, here comes the flavor. It's not good. There is a spiciness to it. Peppercorn and wet dishrag. Lingeringly wheaty and not good at all. I dislike this with much gusto. The mouth feel is terrible as well. Water. All water with no carbonation and a peppery finish. The lingering pepper is all that's left because the liquid falls off the tongue like a ghost wasn't even there. Jesus. Maybe next time, Shorts. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottled. Pours pale golden. Not sure the date, but not fresh. Old. Aroma is wheat, coriander, lime, orange, estery, an off note I canít place. Flavor is better than Aroma. Wheat, orange, some spice note. Not bad, but wouldnít get it again.
