A gentle mixture of elegance and redolence for any occasion.
Northern Michigan spiced wheat ale. A 50% mixture of premium two-row malted barley and malted white wheat makes golden wheat ale balanced with Ahtanum and Cascade hop varieties. This ale is spiced with fresh grated lemon and orange rind, coriander, and black peppercorns. It’s truly a fermented wonder of the Short’s Brew formula family.

From bottle. Mild wheat and citrus notes but overshadowed by fresh ground peppercorns. Slight haze, golden amber body with thin white head. Medium body with medium-high carbonation. Starts moderately sweet with orange, citrus zest, coriander, and lots of peppercorn. Orange rinds and orange-aid flavors. Bitter hop and peppery finish with lingering bitter after.

Clear golden pour with not much of a head. Aroma of pepper and a little tart fruit. Light mouth. Taste is spicy and full of pepper. Slight burn from the pepper. A little wheat. Very strange beer.

Tastes like licking a black pepper shaker bleck. Water and hay on the back end. Not Julie beer. She gives .5. Andy isn't impressed drinking black pepper ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle, from organic market in Traverse City/MI (retrieved from 08/2013 Midwest jpg backlog). Gently spiced to the point of Radler-ish blandness, an organic Radler without any real lemonade, but the slightly artificial sensation of overfruitiness. Wheat malt base has a wit quality to it, black pepper blends in harmoniously. Drinkable light experiment.

pours slightly hazy very pale yellow with a small white cap, some retention and lacing. freshly cracked black pepper, fresh lemon and orange skin, although faint fruitiness from malt bill, white wine, bitter herbs - well integrated and not quite discernable coriander, citrus, fresh lean wheaty notes, clean yeast, no off notes. moderately low carbonation, light body - slightly watery, dry crisp bitter herbal-spicy-lightly tingling and warmth finish. not really complex - flowery-zesty citrus, wheat, black pepper. but for sure enjoyed!

Bottle. Orange/lemon peel and wheat malt aroma. Golden yellow with small head. Mildly sweet orange wheat malt and lightly bitter lemon/orange peel flavor. Clove in the finish. Body on the light side. Nice flavor but very light.

Pours a very clear yellow color tinted orange. An egg shell white colored head that dissipates quick. A zesty citrus aroma. Almost orange soap like. But probably the nose is the best area here. At first sip it’s a quiet lemon flavor. Almost like a dirty water thing. Then gets really thick and foamy. In a really off putting way. After the dirty lemonade feel starts to go a huge pepper spice hits hard. Not the normal peppercorn feel though. Much spicier. The feel really lingers on it dominates any other flavor. It doesn’t work with this brew. Not the best.

Pours slightly hazy, golden yellow, wee bit of thin white head, little thin lacing. Aroma coriander, orange peel, lemon grass, sweet bready malt, faint fruity esters. Taste subdued compared to aroma, spices coat the tongue, orange and lemon peel, more spice, dominated by coriander. Mouthfeel thin, medium carbonation, spice bites at the tongue, mostly dry finish. Overall ok, very spicy, needs more fruitiness, pretty drinkable.
