2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
7/3/13. 12oz bottle thanks to breau! Clear orange pour with a small off-white head. Light oranges in the aroma, thin, a bit of soup spice. The flavor follows suit and the mouthfeel is watery, almost NA-like - basically carbonated kool-aid. Meh.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Tap at the brewpub.
Anemic apple juice pour. Similarly thin aroma with some porpourri. A bit of soft pepper in the flavor. Gentle sweetness.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Thanks to Pawola22 for sending this bottle my way. Yellow pour with a white head. The aroma is full of white pepper, coriander, eucalyptus and wheat. The flavor is also very spicy. I get some lemons, wheat, pepper and coriander. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
This beer has a modest delivery, light and crisp, with a solid aroma. Fails to excite the palate on exit however.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A peppery wheat beer with lots of spice, for sure, but it does have the palate equivalent to inhaling ground black pepper. The orange and coriander are nice enough, but at the end of the day itís too peppery to have more than half a serving! So, a good taste.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
I enjoyed chugging this one. Pours a straw color with a thin white head. Smells.of sweet orange and wheat. Mouth feel is very thin and light with medium carbonation but decent flavors of wheat, coriander, orange but not picking up much peppercorn. Good summer pool beer which Iíll probably switch it up between this and Oberon, but prefer Oberon much more.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle to snifter (shared by mikem409). Looks solid; a transparent gold with thin white lacing. Smells of wheat, citrus zest, and peppercorns. Tastes like it smells with an average mouthfeel. An easy drinker.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle (from backlog). Golden pour with a medium head. Light bodied but a little too much coriander for me.

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle...probably pretty old. Pours a clear golden, pretty dismal light lager appearance. Aroma is citrus, corn. Taste is very light, citrus hops and lemon, wheat, spice.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Appearance: Pours a deep, clear yellow color with a short-lived head, and no lacing. Really a pretty sad looking brew. It looks like stagnant urine.
Smell: Faint on the aroma after the head bubbles away. Some spice is certainly there, as is some hops and malt. Nothing overpowering though.
Taste/Feel: Very, very interesting. Thereís a whole lot of everything going on. My first thought was that it tasted a lot like tea... like an Earl Grey or something. Then the zest comes in so you get some citrus in the background, but on the finish you get a slight burn on your tongue from the peppercorns. Very bizarre but also enjoyable. The carbonation is medium, despite seeing very little bubbling in the glass. The feel is pretty light.
This is one strange yet tasty beer by Shortís. I should also note this is the first Shortís Iíve ever had. It essentially tastes like a tea with pepper in it to me, which isnít a bad thing. Itís just very unusual. Iím not sure Iíd drink this too often... I see it as more of a novelty. Iíd still get it again in the future just because itís so strangely compelling.
