Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster is a Double Belgian IPA brewed exclusively with Galaxy hops. The nose is an impressive blend of citrus aromas reminiscent of guava and lemons. It also has subtle Belgian yeast esters. An intense, clean bitterness dominates the flavor profile, with little malt character to compete with. A fruity yeast sweetness is noticeable in the finish, alongside a resounding bitterness.

4 oz. pour, on tap at Clubhouse BFD in Rochester Hills, Michigan. Consumed on 9-27-16. Bright bronze with a small amount beige head. Mostly clear with some haze. Looks substantial and good. Fruit-forward, hoppy aroma. Orange and apricot scents. Strong and appetizing smell. Sweet yet heavily hoppy flavor. Dry finish. Fruity hops: Peach, mango, and pineapple. Usually, the fruity hops aren’t my preference, but this one works quite well for me. Packed with flavor. Lively and frothy in the palate. Medium to full body. Well-done double IPA across the board. Not my preferred hops emphasis but executes it well enough that I really like it.

Aromas are very nicely balanced between hops and malt/yeast. Hops are tropical fruit - lemon and mango. Malt or yeast is a nice bready sweetness. Taste is somewhat sweet and plenty of tropical bitterness. Palate is medium body, average carbonation and a long finish that is a combination of the tropical hops and the sweet yeast. Overall this is a very nicely balanced beer: hoppy and bitter, but also sweet with a touch of bread. Very nice.

12 oz bottle. Bottled 09/07/16. (White’s Party Store) Marquette, MI.
Cloudy golden color with a small white head. Yeast, fruity and citrusy hops, mild bitterness and dry malt in a nice aroma. The flavor is strong bitterness, resiny and citrusy hops, some sourness, yeast and some malt. Tasty. A nice beer.

Bottled 10/20/15. Pours dark golden, big white frothy head. Aroma is pretty big dank hops, citrus, orange, really sweet notes, pine, resin, estery, clove is in there for sure. Flavor is a big bite of hop up front. Super hop forward. Estery, Belgian notes. I know there are more subtle Belgian spice and fruit notes in there but the hops just overpower it and it’s hard to separate it out. Just generally, mild Belgian spices and fruit but citrus and big big pine, hops, bitterness. That’s a robust beer.

Hop contribution to aroma and flavor is excellent...but alcohol is in both. Solid body. Belgium yeast is evident, but modest.

Fresh bottle. Pours a clear golden color with a white head that leaves behind significant lacing after a few sips. Aromas fruity hops and distinctive yeast; citrus, light tropical notes, not really sure how to describe the yeast aroma/flavor, but I taste it in Evil Urges and, to a lesser extent, Anniversary Ale, as well. Like what it adds a lot. Taste is of yeast and fruity hops. A moderate sweetness balanced by a medium to medium+ bitterness. Finishes bitter and lightly dry. My favorite Short’s DIPA.

The aroma is excellent. The appearance is as well. This is my favorite beer I’ve ever tasted. It hits the palate perfectly. I give it a 100.
