Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster is a Double Belgian IPA brewed exclusively with Galaxy hops. The nose is an impressive blend of citrus aromas reminiscent of guava and lemons. It also has subtle Belgian yeast esters. An intense, clean bitterness dominates the flavor profile, with little malt character to compete with. A fruity yeast sweetness is noticeable in the finish, alongside a resounding bitterness.

Bottled 10/20/15. Pours dark golden, big white frothy head. Aroma is pretty big dank hops, citrus, orange, really sweet notes, pine, resin, estery, clove is in there for sure. Flavor is a big bite of hop up front. Super hop forward. Estery, Belgian notes. I know there are more subtle Belgian spice and fruit notes in there but the hops just overpower it and itís hard to separate it out. Just generally, mild Belgian spices and fruit but citrus and big big pine, hops, bitterness. Thatís a robust beer.

Hop contribution to aroma and flavor is excellent...but alcohol is in both. Solid body. Belgium yeast is evident, but modest.

Fresh bottle. Pours a clear golden color with a white head that leaves behind significant lacing after a few sips. Aromas fruity hops and distinctive yeast; citrus, light tropical notes, not really sure how to describe the yeast aroma/flavor, but I taste it in Evil Urges and, to a lesser extent, Anniversary Ale, as well. Like what it adds a lot. Taste is of yeast and fruity hops. A moderate sweetness balanced by a medium to medium+ bitterness. Finishes bitter and lightly dry. My favorite Shortís DIPA.

Pour on tap, hazy golden-orange pour with white head, aroma brought big orange peel, tropical fruit, tangerine, grapefruit, pine and resinous notes into a bit of slight caramel, toffee. Taste was a mix of tropical fruit, pineapple, tangerine, orange, some grapefruit into a bitter pine note, hints of caramel, finishing bitter. Nicely done.

12 oz. bottle. Bottled 10/14/14.Thanks Brandon! It pours a very hazy orange color with a very small but dense off white head that disappears quickly. The aroma is lightly caramel up front with lots of grassy, piney hops and a good dose of sweeter tropical fruit. A bit too much toffee, but it could be the ageÖ The flavor is nice with more grass, spice, pine, guava and tangerine with strong piney bitterness. Iím not getting much toffee in the flavor which is good. There is some caramel, but itís secondary to the big hops going on here. Pretty clean for a Belgian yeast too with no phenols or banana esters, just a subtle spiciness that complements the beer pretty well. Itís pretty sweet up front, but the bitterness balances it out somewhat in the finish. Overall, this was pretty enjoyable. I wonder if it was more potent fresh.

Bottle from my Secret Santa, many thanks Brandon. Unclear orange color with thick white head. Strong citrus hoppy aroma with grapefruits, oranges, tangerines, pineapples, honey. Strong hoppy taste with grapefruits, mango, guava, tangerines, pines, Belgian yeast. Solid malty backbone. Long hoppy bitter finish. Tasty.

Nice peppery and bubblegum flavor with bright citrus and pine hop flavors. Moderately sweet. Very good and quite unique.

This is one of Shorts finest brews. The aroma is very pleasant and sweet. Taste of passion fruit and Belgium yeast comes out. Very good good DIPA but may not satisfy big hopheads. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
