Color is amber. Aroma and taste are fruits, caramel, malt and hops. Nice bitterness, not just bitter for the sake of being bitter. Nice drinkable beer

Mild nose of chocolate and hops. Thin pale head. Slightly hazy pale brown orange color. Slightly sour hoppy taste with some hints of berries. At the end hoppy bitterness.

On draft in tulip. Creamy and dense head. Slight banana and other fruits upfront with a little bitterness at the end. Smooth mouthfeel.

Aroma is citrus and sourish grass. Hazy orange, unusually still. Tastes like a standard bready malt affair, dry almost sour finish. Bitter enough though not hoppy. Light body, easy to drink while I wouldnít want it as a session beer. Just okay.

Great aroma. Tastes similar to most hoppy ipas. Maybe a little sweeter than most ipas. Really bitter.

Got a bottle of this in a mixed sixer for $11. Bright yellow color, slight haze. Smells like biscuit and a hint of hops, citrus. Taste is more biscuit and a bit of hops but I honestly did not find this to be overly hoppy and wasnít too impressed. It was a decent beer but for $11 a sixer I would buy SNPA instead every single time. I think the trend of upward pricing really works against a lot of breweries if the beers arenít better than the benchmark for the style.

Bottle poured into Belgian tulip glass. Thick white head quickly disappeared leaving thin lacing. Cloudy burnt orange color. Citrusy, herbal, funky, bready aroma. Spicey, piney, somewhat sourish taste leaving a dry bitter taste on the back of the tongue. Good showing from Shorts. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled 8/7/2012. Pours lightly hazy golden orange color with a 1 finger fairly dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty lacing clings to the glass. Aromas of orange, pineapple, mango, caramel, bread, herbal, floral, and light pine. Pretty nice aromas with good strength and balance. Taste of orange, grapefruit, pineapple, caramel, biscuit, herbal, floral, toast, and light pine. Light herbal bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus, caramel, biscuit, herbal, floral, and light pine on the finish for a good bit. Good hop flavor complexity, with a great bitterness/sweetness balance; zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a fairly creamy and crisp mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a very good pale ale. Nice flavor balance and very smooth to drink. A very pleasant and enjoyable offering.

12 oz. bottle served in a pilsner glass. Thanks to Holland (Eric) for the extra a while back. Found this guy floating around in the back of the fridge and decided to crack it open.
A: Pours a clear copper color with a solid light yellow head forming on the pour. The head slowly recedes to a thick collar with nice sheets of lace left behind.
S: The first whiff is not pleasant. Spoiled honey with slight souring note. Souring in a gone bad though. The bready malts are almost sourdough in nature.
T: There is a slight compost heap flavor with spoiled hops upfront, but those quickly fade to pale malts. The finish is sourdough bread malts with some unpleasant.
M: The unpleasantness of the nose and taste make this guy hard to get down. Luckily the flavors exit the taste buds rather quickly so swallowing isnít too bad of an option.
O: Well I donít know. It looked so good and Iíve liked other Shortís beers. Their Mystery Stout is really good, but this one was just not good. The malt bill was not pleasant in any way, shape or form and the hops were just not there. Not balanced. Avoid.
