Behold the bitter hysteria
Pandemonium Pale Ale is a coppered-colored American Pale Ale that lends its hue to hearty two-row malts and hand selected specialty grains. Glacier hops balance the malt character, resulting in bountiful hoppy flavors and earthy aromas. Behold the bitter hysteria!

Bottle - poured hazy amber color with dmall head. Aroma - biscuity malt and cereal grains. Taste - not much going on here. I really like Short’s, but this beer is average at best. Palate is thin and finish is stale and blah. Overall - tastes more like an amber ale. Probably a good beer if you’re new to the craft beer scene but not enough flavor for me......boring..

12 oz bottle from Lopez, who made a trip to the brewery and was kind enough to think of me (thanks brutha!) Pours a burnt-orangey gold, medium whitish head with nice retention and lacing. Nose is caramelly and candied oranges, biscuity malts, some dried grass, black pepper. Mouth is medium bodied, lightly sweet caramel malts and an easy bitterness on the intro, orange peels, some crackers, touch of soapy bitterness at finish. Nothing mind-blowing but certainly drinkable.

9/8/2014. From bottle. Amber color with a white head. Caramel, hops and malty aromas. Good bitterness, nice malt forward brew, but nothing to really remember.

pours almost cloudy golden greyish with a small off-white head, little retention and lacing. spicy and lightly grainy fruity maltiness, muited citrus and pine, hint of garbage, some soft earthy notes - almost englishy. moderately low carbonation, light body - oily, balanced, assertive yet not offensive spicy-citrusy-piney finish. nice american-english pale ale.

I think I let this sit too long. Smells skunked and tastes the same. Cloudy orange pour from 12 oz bottle at home. Musty basement taste. I hope I rate this again fresh

A pretty decent pale ale. Orangish yellow appearance, grapefruit tinge to the flavor but with a decent caramel balance.

Tap: Opaque, golden-amber with a decent sized, soapy white head. Aroma is very floral & earthy hops, bitterness apparent to the nostrils. Hop oil, orange & pineapple rind, grapefruit pith, just a hint of toasty malt. Bitterness & floral hops on the palate front & center. Citrus peel, orange rind, & bitter grapefruit come alive & lead into a toasted bread malt profile, just a mild hint of sweetness in the finish. Quite floral & bitter for just a pale ale, but a decent brew overall.

Tasted on tap at Short’s. It poured a clear, light amber hue with an off white head and streaky lacing. A malty aroma with a sneaky bitter taste.

From bottle. Pours an orange yellow with a small white head. Aroma is citrus with caramel. Taste is the same, only a little more intense, nicely sweet with definite hoppiness. Medium mouthfeel, medium carbonation. Quite nice.

I have to say that I’m not a huge fan of Short’s label artwork. Don’t get me wrong... it’s great artwork, but doesn’t do a good job of luring you into drinking the beer. For Pandemonium, once you pour the beer out of the bottle and see it in the glass it looks alot more tempting. Soft, golden orange in color with light carbonation and a thin, foamy white head, the beer has an almost fruity, sweet aroma. It’s very soft in the nose, and light, with some slightly soured grain and possible yeast notes present. This is a summer beer. The flavor is incredibly fruity, almost like a fermented sour apple candy It has a very soft mouthfeel, and although the flavor is sweet and fruity there’s a yeast sourness in the finish that really grabs the center and back of the tongue by its balls and bleeds it like a rag. The inside of my mouth is sweating like my cheeks do when I eat something highly sour. If you can adjust to the sourness it would be a great sessionable summer beer. There’s some bitterness in the finish, if you can get around the grainy, fermented sourness, but it doesn’t come right out and bite you.
