Bottle. Pours a deep brown-black with a fizzy off-white head that fades. Aroma has a lot of fruit, grapes and berries, with yeast, burnt toasted malt, grass, and a hint of something sweeter and richer. Taste hits with a ton of fizzy fruit and yeast, then picks up rounder malt and peanut notes at the back. Lingering blend of everything that really is a bit like peanut butter and jelly. Weird, but not bad. This bottle was quite old too but doesn’t seem to have lost anything.

12oz bottle. Red-amber chocolate body. If this was supposed to be sour, it would be higher regarded. Big vinegar notes, but with some brown sugary malt tones to balance it out. Pretty nice somehow.

12oz bottle, thanks to FlandersNed. Sticker on the cap reads "1-10". Moderately hazy, dark brown color. Thin khaki head. Leaves solid ropes of lace. Tart, tannic, nutty peanut butter aroma. Light jelly fruitiness. Very sour, tart taste. Sweet and sour. Oxidized aroma - some paper, cardboard. Medium body. Lightly slick. Lighter, kind of soft carbonation. Lightly sour, clearly old, infected, pretty oxidized, but not repulsive - significantly better than Uber Guber, when I tried it (it was incredibly sour)

Bottle to taster (2010 vintage; shared by DrSilverworm). Looks solid; cola with beige head that quickly dissipates into lacing. Smells and tastes of sour fruit. Tart on the palate. A good fruited sour, but an inappropriate example of the style.

On tap at the brewpub. Dark brown pour with a quickly dissipating white head. . Smokey peanut butter and grape jelly aroma and taste. Roasted malt with nuts and dark fruit. Interesting combination.

(From backlog) Bottle. Odd fake chemically smell. Peanuts followed by artificial fruit and really weird aftertaste.

Opaque and very dark brown beer, short lived head. Nose of tart black fruits and earthy peanut. Crisp palate, dry. Pretty tart fruits to start - we are almost in sour beer territory! Generic black fruits with a touch of red berries. In the backdrop is earthy peanut with a whisper of smoke. Finishes crisp and dry. I love Joe Short’s creativity and this another great idea but I’d like the tartness toned down a lot. Still enjoyed it though.

jcr (2112) - Jasper, Indiana, USA - DEC 2, 2011
Bottle. Hazy brown body. Small beige head, mostly diminishing. Aroma of peanuts, bread crust, damp basement, roasted malt. The flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter and lightly tart. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet, lightly sweet and moderately tart. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Light taste of peanuts, citrus, sour apple. Slight oxidation. Interesting beer, but not all that enjoyable.

On tap from notes at EBF 08. Sample pour was certainly enough on this one, dark hue, aromas were very strange, some nutty qualities and over ripe fruit. Goes down smooth, but the palate is all messed up, too much cloying up front with little to no finish. I guess this was a noble try, but PB and J should go into a beer.
