Peanut butter jelly time! Peanut butter jelly time! Peanut butter jelly time!
Peanut butter jelly with a baseball bat! Peanut butter jelly with a baseball bat!
In all seriousness, this is one tasty brew. Great comfort beer for the cold months ahead. I am so glad to live in Michigan, beer capital of the US. Ooh la la.

Funky and strange. Shortís is eclectic, and I admire them for it. Fruit smell and taste, on top of usual stout flavors, were dominate. Peanuts were only in background.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Champanes, label reads ĎA Blend of Peanut Butter Stout and Fruit Rye Aleí, no % alcohol or BBD noted,
has a black pour but I see a very dark ruby (with a bit of haze?) when the glass is held up to a light, very little head on this beer of tan and dark tan bubbles and the head quickly diminishes to a ring and partial cover, there are some bubbles floating up in the center of the glass but not much, also, at the right angle, I can see oil(?) pockets on top of the beer, pretty much the same if you looked at the top of your cup of coffee, the are the little pockets of oils floating on the surface, I donít think I have ever seen these pockets of oil (or whatever they are) floating on the surface of a beer,
aromas of chocolate and peanuts with dark fruit, Strawberry and Blueberry,
flavors of roasted malt, chocolate, dark chocolate and Blueberry,
nice and interesting combination of aromas and flavors.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle: The aroma consists of chocolate, peanuts, alcohol, strawberries, and blueberries. It pours a dark brown with some faint orange highlights along the edges of the glass and a small beige head that diminishes quickly. The flavor starts with chocolate and light peanuts. The finish has moderate strawberry. It begins all Uber Goober and finishes all Soft Parade. Medium bodied with mild carbonation.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Black pour with a big, loose, tan head. Subtle aroma of salty peanuts with a hint of strawberry jam. Thereís some peppery spice note from the rye and a little bit of roastiness. The flavor has soft notes of fruit and peanut but itís mostly covered up by a strong, tannic vegetal twang coming from the roasted malt and rye malt together. The peanut starts to come out a bit more after a few sips but the fruit is very minimal. Thereís some roast and cocoa notes on the finish too. The body has a creamy, medium viscosity mouth feel with moderate carbonation.

E-B-F. Brown body with a tan head. Nice strawberry aroma with a hint of nuts, marshmallow, and some raspberry. Fruit preservatives, and peanut shells. I think they nailed this crazy one.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Sampled at EBF 09. Wow was I underwhelmed by this, probably because this was the only brewery at the enitre fest I actually stood on a loooooong lline to sample. This one had the aroma of green peas and perhaps a hint of peanuts. Tasted like vegtables as well. Meh, and thatís being very generous.

MIBGWF09. Pours dark brown with a creamy beige head. Aroma is strawberries, peanuts, chocolate. Flavor is peanuts, roast, chocolate, strawberries, blueberries. Palate is full bodied, medium carbonation, finished sweet. Can help but think of a peanut butter and jelly sanwich. Good stuff.
