Quality lies just off the beaten path.
Using a bottom fermenting yeast strain, I ferment a wort brewed with high quality Wisconsin grown malted barley, which I blend with a small amount of flaked maize to tone the blond color and provide a distinct flavor profile. The wort is balanced in the kettle with gracious handfuls of Perle hops. Doses of the Santiam hop pellet provide flavor and a pleasant aroma. This beer is naturally carbonated and cold aged to perfection.

Good shorts beer. Very clean, some hop bitterness in the finish. No shitty adjunct flavors

Bottle. Golden body with a white, fizzy head. Aroma of straw, grass, toasted grain. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture and lively carbonation. Bitterness lingers into the finish, but there’s a vinegary, tartness along with it. Lacks crispness and it’s hard to get beyond the vinegar.

Not my favorite Short’s offering, but a good Pils none-the-less. Fairly complex, dry, and crisp this is an outstanding warm season beer. Could use some more hoppy high notes...

Bottle. Sweet pils malt aroma and slightly fruity. Good color, yellow with not much of a head. Dry, crisp, and fairly malty. A touch of fruit in the finish, possibly an off-flavor from fermentation but not off-putting.

Pours a hazy yellow with a medium white head. Aroma is grassy and earthy with a bit of skunkyness...notable malty hay. Flavor has spicy, grassiness...faintly skunky. Mouthfeel is light and silky with a skunky/spicy finish.

12 oz. bottle from the magical beer place that is Michigan. Bright, hazy golden pour. Aroma of citrus, strong pilsener malt, nice, strong leafy hops. Flavor is citrus, leafy hops, pale malts. Not quite crisp enough. Seems to be suffering from a lack of carbonation. It just needs some nice carbonation to make it solid. I opened a bottler earlier that was completely flat. Crazy. I feel with a touch more carbonation this would have been an excellent pils. Bummer. What could have been, etcetera and so forth.

UPDATED: MAR 25, 2013 Bright yellow color, no head. Lemon citrus aroma that is very pleasant. Taste is not however. Very dry citrus taste that is not refreshing. Lingering aftertaste is not good either. Drain-pour. Re-rate 3/25/13 - I think I was a little harsh rating this last time. Definitely not a drain pour, it’s really just an ok pilsener.

Pours pale yellow into a Sam glass. Bright white head with medium retention recedes to nothing. Sour lemon and corn aromas. Sweet marshmallow and bitter lemon upfront turning to grapefruit in the lasting finish.

Hazy, lemon color; big pilsener head; first sip I thought seemed buttery, but it was okay after that; by far better than standard BMC adjuncts.

Bottles sampled in a shaker and large Gulden Draak tulip glass, this beer had a clear pale yellow pour and made a two finger white head that receded to a thin cover, effervescence was medium or a little more, the glass looked lively, and this beer left spots, partial rings and small sheens lacing on the glass as I drank, there was a very thin film of light colored sediment on the bottom of the bottle, the nose was light malt, light cracker, faint floral notes and sour citrus with a faint white sugar like sweetness in the background, the flavors were light malt, a little lemon with a sour citrus, the finish had a sour-citrus bitterness that hung around a bit and left the palate dry, the mouth feel was light and it left the palate dry after the finish, a nice, light drinking beer.
