COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Quality lies just off the beaten path.
Using a bottom fermenting yeast strain, I ferment a wort brewed with high quality Wisconsin grown malted barley, which I blend with a small amount of flaked maize to tone the blond color and provide a distinct flavor profile. The wort is balanced in the kettle with gracious handfuls of Perle hops. Doses of the Santiam hop pellet provide flavor and a pleasant aroma. This beer is naturally carbonated and cold aged to perfection.

Bottle. Pours a hazy gold with a big foamy white head. Yeasty aroma, bready and sharp, with grass, malt, a hint of lemon. Taste of yeasty bread, with malt, hay, and a hint of flowers. Lingering earthy yeast flavors that ends with some watery bitterness. Decent pils.

Bottle. Lactic barley malt aroma. Pale yellow with nice white head. Slightly sweet barley malt and moderately bitter dry grass/quinine flavor. Decent body. Okay.

12oz bottle, thanks to umich03jm. Mildly hazy yellow color. Thin white head. Good lace. Nice, smooth, crisp lighter carbonation. Clean finish. Like so many Shorts brews, this is very quaffable. Easy to drink and refreshing. Nice hop profile, kind of grassy, light citrus peel, little pepper. Good bready pilsnery malt base. Mild bitter taste, but a solid amount of sweet, too... Love it. My kind of pilsener.

Bottle:   Straw colored, very hazy, moderate white frothy head, nice lacing.   Strong straw/hay on the nose, sweet, a little dry...  Almost too strong in its grassiness.   Really really husky and chewy.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Not your lighter crisp example, this one is chewy, very strong straw/hay, and a bit drier than others.   Different, and interesting.

Bottled 3/13/12 and poured 9/29/12 Appearance: A murky yellow color with a thin head that leaves surprisingly decent lacing. Smell: A very light hop aroma... maybe even a bit of wheat-like smells as well. Taste/feel: As expected, mild. Drinks a lot like a light beer. The biggest thing about this beer that I don’t care for is that instant it hits the tongue. It feels like carbonated water, and that’s really it. But once the taste comes out, it’s not too bad. There’s a decent bit of hops and even some spices in there. A very mild aroma and taste, but that’s what’s expected with this style. It gets better as you get to the bottom of the glass, but still a pretty ordinary beer -- would make a GREAT beer for Summer.

Very hazy gold beer, good white head. Crispy palate, semi dry. A little seltzer minerals before decent yellow grapefruit hops. Whisper of peach and tropical fruits. Crispy finish. A fine Pilsener and if there were more like this I would drink them more often!

12oz bottle from my buddy Steve. Nice vibrant pour, pale gold and well carbonated. Nose of mild fruit, traces of corn, and very understated hops. Mouthfeel is nicely lively, slightly peppery feeling on the palate, with an only modestly dry finish. Brighter and more fruity than a lot of the pilsners out there, and there’s a sustained ripeness owing to the pronounced grain and corn in there. Nothing comes across as overly chewy or artificial; tastes too fresh for that. But it’s just not quite the flavor profile I crave when I crack a pils.

Bottle to pils glass. Looks solid; a semi-transparent gold with white head and lively carbonation. Smells solid too; doughy with some hop notes. Tastes like it smells, but lacks and pilsner snap. Average (at best) on the palate. Alright for the style.

Kind of a wierd pils. Super dry and herbal. HAy notes, light citrus. It is super effervescent. It is decent.
