awaisanen (1160), Irvine, California, USA Sep 5, 2007 On tap at the brewery. Pours a transparent, ruddy purple color with a thin, pinkish off-white head. Aroma of freshly squeezed blueberries interplays interestingly with corn. Not DMS, but a definite flaked maize, corn-like American lager quality that the blueberry character, while pleasant, isn’t strong enough to overcome. Light bodied, lightly carbonated mouthfeel. Tastes like a clean, American pale lager with a restrained dose of blueberry. A little bit boring, although I’m intrigued by how the addition of blueberries to this style doesn’t really affect the massive quaffability.
