Pub Brew. Rhu-Caliente is a hazy pale yellow Belgian India White Ale with aromas of sweet lemon, bright grapefruit, subtle nutmeg, and hints of pine. Caliente hops and Belgian yeast create a fruit filled sensation, that’s enhanced further by the addition of tart rhubarb. The finish turns abruptly toward an intense spicy bitterness that hits the palate and leaves a lasting dryness.

Draft at the brewpub, Bellaire. Hazy (cloudy) yellow-orange body, medium to thick dense off-white head. Sweet, fruity nose with coriander, light fruits, and wet grass. Weird body, herbal and sharp with coriander and presumably rhubarb; caky, perfumy, and floral, also with some catty, spicy hops. Over the duration of the pour, the hops take precedence. Quite good.

On tap at the brewpub...cloudy straw yellow with a unique aroma and taste that finished with rhubarb inspired tartness that was reminiscent of hop bitterness. I’d have liked to spent more time with this one, but it was the 1st pint I got at Short’s and an avalanche of more beers quickly hit the table and my attention scattered...

Very pale, completely cloudy, wheaty yellow pour with some white head. Light aroma, smells like fresh ground pepper and possibly jalepeno or chiles and light sweet belgian yeast. Pale salty malt, light buttery belgian yeast and more black pepper flavor that left kind of bitter. Dry finish, average carbonation and somewhat chalky mouthfeel. Very unique light belgian, very nice.

On tap at the brewpub. Hazy light gold pour with a medium white head. Citrus hoppiness in the aroma and taste. Didn’t quite pick up the rhubarb with the hops but all in all another good IPA from Joe.
