3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Sampled at the 2nd annual Michigan Winter Beer Festival, Lansing. Dark brown body, thin ochre head. Sharp, acidic, tart cherry body, really delivering a sour bite, roasty porter flavors on the finish. I had no idea this was of such high ABV. Tasty but one-dimensional.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured in a tulip glass at the brewery. Very little head or carbonation. Some cherry aroma, but more of a roasted malt and chocolate tone. Have to agree that this brew is a little astringent -- probably from the cherries. Nice mouthfeel, and, overall, a very good beer.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap at Detroit Brewfest. Pours an opaque color. Rich coffee aroma, roasted malt flavor. An astringent or perhaps as TheDM stated "tingly" sensation. Cherry flavors are subtle, a little sour. Alcohol is high for a porter.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft at Shorts Brewing Co. Small size tan head and fine-small sized bubbles that mostly diminished. Uncarbonated, opaque and a dark brown hue with a hint of red. Malty, coffee and cherry aroma. Malt and coffee flavor. Did not pick up much, if any, cherry flavor. Smooth mouthfeel. Medium bodied Porter with decent lacing.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
This draft brew from the brewery poured a medium sized head of fine to medium sized dark brown mostly diminishing bubbles that left behind a good lacing. The body was opaque and black in color with no visible carbonation. The aroma was mild with malt molasses and mild cherries. The mouth feel was malty and tingly initially then ,mellowed in its finish. The flavor contained notes of cherries and malt.
