Liquified laughter from fruit filled disaster.
Simply put: Fruit Rye Ale. A bountiful blend of toasted rye flakes and two row malted barley make wort fermented with 200 pounds of pureed strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and blackberries resulting in a sweet fruity delicacy. Intoxicatingly refreshing and brewed special for those ladies who enjoy their wine.

This pours a semi-clear reddish color with a slight white head. The scent is fruity, but it’s not as strong as you would think for the style of beer. The taste is kind of a disaster with the clash of fruit with the “high gravity ale.” This essentially tastes like a cheap 40 that someone dumped day old fruit juice in. It’s hard to pick out the blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries. This is something they really need to take back to the drawing board and I think eliminating the high gravity ale is a starting place. Finishes with a slight raspberry taste and chalky after taste.

Bottle. Bright berry aroma with strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, and blackberry with a little bit of rye and light vinous notes. Pours pinkish-amber with about one finger of white head that burns off quickly to leave a bit of retention and decent lacing. Starts with tart berry flavors with a little bit of earthiness from the rye. Finishes a bit dry with white wine flavors as well as the berry sweetness. Nice, refreshing brew.

Bot. Looks great in the glass, all pinkish light brown and all. has a good fruit tart beer nose about it. Oooooo, my. This stuff comes across like grain alky fruit pop o the palate. Better take it easy on this. Whew. QUITE STRONG, QUITE VOLATILE, QUITE IN YER FACE. Difficult medicine all round. The looks and nose were a decoy. High gravity doesn’t even begin to describe this brew. Come to think of it, it starts to come across like a fruity barley wine in the end. Will kick your ass if yer not careful.

From bottle, the pour is reddish pink, clearly made with fruit, the head it white with pink hues. The aroma is bread yeast, a little berry and sweetness. The taste is pleasant, berries are abundant but not overpowering, they compliment the ale. Being an imperial ale, it calms the sugars from the berries and makes the beer taste like a ale with berries in the background. In the finish is sweetness, strawberries yeast, and almost a slight ice cream flavor. With all this makes this seam overly sweet it is not, it is balanced and the flavors pull through with the right amount of sweetness. The carbonation is strong with a thin mouthfeel.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark salmon color with a large foamy pink-white head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was sweet strawberry jam. The flavor was sweet strawberry, cardboard, yeast and turned a bit dry at the end. Medium length finish. Medium body. Ok.

Blindfolded, I think raspberry would be the only fruit I could pick out in this but that’s okay; I like raspberries fine. This is sort of a deep orange color w/ maybe a hint of red to it w/ a big, fairly creamy head. The raspberry hits me up front but isn’t over-the-top or anything, allowing for a good bit of cookie-like malt character to come out as well. This is full bodied and creamy w/o being sweet or heavy feeling. Combined w/ a touch of acidity from the fruity and it makes for a nice, refreshing experience. It is kind of annoying they say this is for "ladies" since I don’t see why anyone can’t enjoy a nice fruit beer but, say what you will, I think Shorts nailed exactly what they were going for on this one.

From beer club. Pours murky dull red with medium foamy white head. Aroma and taste of berries slight carbonation. Pretty much what I expected from the brewers description but it's just a little too fruity and sweet for me. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. From Mom. Pours a pinkish amber color with fast dissipating head. All kinds of berry aroma on the nose. Average carbonation. Medium sweetness. A nice blend of light fruit flavor with some malts. Not overly fruity. A slight warming alcohol too. Not too shabby.

This is a really good beer. This is like a dessert beer. I could drink that fruity beer for a long time with a nice piece of cheesecake.
