Liquified laughter from fruit filled disaster.
Simply put: Fruit Rye Ale. A bountiful blend of toasted rye flakes and two row malted barley make wort fermented with 200 pounds of pureed strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and blackberries resulting in a sweet fruity delicacy. Intoxicatingly refreshing and brewed special for those ladies who enjoy their wine.

This pours a semi-clear reddish color with a slight white head. The scent is fruity, but it’s not as strong as you would think for the style of beer. The taste is kind of a disaster with the clash of fruit with the “high gravity ale.” This essentially tastes like a cheap 40 that someone dumped day old fruit juice in. It’s hard to pick out the blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries. This is something they really need to take back to the drawing board and I think eliminating the high gravity ale is a starting place. Finishes with a slight raspberry taste and chalky after taste.

"You cannot petition the Lord with Coors!" The Lizard King never said that, and he also never drank this beer. So there is that. Short’s has a reputation as a brewer of undrinkable beers. This redeems them.....a bit. If you ask your server for a "drink that Jim would approve of" he will let this swill flow into your glass like he has unleashed his bladder all over an unbridled fire of inferno proportions. I rated this as high as I did because it references the most bitching band in the world: The Doors!

[7333-20150704] Tap. Fruity berry aroma. Hazy, brown red body with a quick foamy white head. Fruity berry flavour has a nice raspberry blackberry crispness. Medium body. Good. (7/3/7/3/13) 3.3

2015-07-04. Hazy red body with a tiny beige head. Aroma of fruity berries. 6+ Flavour is pleasant fruity berry mix, with no distinct type standing out. Average plus bodied palate, soft carbonation. Decent, enjoyable. Dangerously drinkable - I didn’t realize how strong it is! On tap at Grand Trunk, Detroit.

Bottle shared poured a pinkish light orange color with minimal white head. Aroma straight up is blueberries and strawberries. The flavor up front is blueberry followed by strawberry. The warmer it got the more pronounced the strawberry flavor became. Overall quite decent for a fruit beer and I do think wine drinkers would enjoy this.
