Some what bland but a solid choice for a person that enjoys fruity beers. Wish the taste was a little stronger though.

pours cloudy orange with a small off-white-pinkish head, some retention and shy lacing. fruit salad juice - rasp and strawberries standing out, very fruity, rosé wine - zinfandel-ish, light astringency - like when chewing raspberry leaves, if at all normal, some fruit jam, slightly cheezy, light citric notes, but also few lactic notes. moderately low carbonation - slightly lacking, light to medium body - oily and thick, slightly astringent and spicy-herbal-grassy finish. quite close to fruit wine or rosé zinfandel - conclusive experiment - boozier than wine though.

From a bottle. Just effusively a Michigan beer in so many ways. Bold and strong flavor, but that flavor is sweet and juicy. No alcohol burn or aftertaste despite high ABV. A very sneaky and well crafted ale that happens to have fruit in it.

Tap. Semi opaque amber red. Small head, decent lacing. Berry centric perfume with a healthy amount of raspberries and strawberries. Like sniffing jam. Light wheat behind. Taste continues the berry parade. Jam and wheat. Wheat and jam. You get the idea. Toes the line between fruity and cloying.

From bottle. Fruity but odd in that the aftertaste cuts away right away. Nice soft pink color. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz bottle. Pours a translucent light reddish brown with small pink head fading to the rim. Aroma is bright ripe fruit with strawberries upfront, and a certain grassiness. Flavor is sweet initially, quickly changes to a tart vinegar acidity. Dry finish, medium bodied. From notes 1/23/10 (Geist Dark Lord tasting).

Pours a pink hazy color. Head was 1/5 of and inch, white with a pink tint. Head retention and lacing were mediocre at best but the beer was such a pretty color, I decided to boost up the rating a small amount. Smell is of strawberries and raspberries, similar to a jar of jam. Pale straw malts are also detected, apparently this beer is made with rye but i don’t get any on the nose.Getting some smells of belgian yeast similar to what you’d find in a tripel. Aroma of alcohol is light in the end. Taste is full on fruit; lots of raspberries and strawberries with some blackberries in background. Very light malts are also in the mix, again, I don’t get any rye. No hops are detected either, some medicinal alcohol is tasted in the finish. Mouthfeel is very light and effervescent, similar to a champagne or rose. No head is present which is a shame, could have used some to cut astringent aftertaste. Overall, this was a tasty fruit ale but it was pretty one note. Could have benefited from more body but it is a good alternative to sparkling wine or hard ciders. Good beer but not available in my area, wouldn’t try too hard to trade for it

Pour on tap at One eyed Betty, hazy orange pour with white head, aroma brought notes of blueberry, cherry, some rye, spice, yeast, caramel, earthy notes, some hints of cardboard as well. Taste is a better berry, raspberry, strawberry comes through into some yeast, dough, caramel, toast, hints of rye, finishing sweet. Interesting.

Tap: Dark shade of pink & ruby-red with a creamy, lavender layer of foam. Aroma full of fruit; raspberry, fig, cherry, strawberry. Sweet, definitely. Moderate chalkiness underneath the berries that comes off as slightly artificial. Sweet berry flavor, tangy & with a spike of tartness but it’s plagued by that same artificial tone from the aroma. Almost chalky & medicinal. Makes the fruit profile seem like a farce, & it starts to wear on you quickly... A little too sweet, perhaps. Overall, I’ve grown to tolerate this beer more & more over time but I still am not completely on board. Just a mediocre fruit beer.

Draft at Hopcat. Pours a hazy amber. Aroma of berries, fruit, yeast. Sweet and very fruity with decent tartness. Good fruit beer
