COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION Pub-only. Son of Samurai has complex aromas of spice, zesty lemon, and a subtle woody sweetness that gather atop this dark red Saison. A fun, fruity tartness hits the palate, balanced by sufficient malt sweetness and slight toasted qualities. A peppery spiciness follows alongside a slight bitterness that finishes dry.
Draft at Taps 25, Lansing. Slightly hazy orange-red body, medium clumping cream to tan head. Herbal nose with leafy hops, tobacco, rye, and licorice. Tart, tannic body, woody and spicy, with licorice, lemongrass, and toast. Earthy and somewhat bitter. Not bad but not one I’ll return to anytime soon.
