Yellow color. Moderate head. The spruce works well enough with the aroma but becomes a total train wreck in the taste. Maybe itís like having someone with no palate for sours rating a a lambic but this beer just did not go down well.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
bottle - Pours slightly hazy light gold with a one finger white head. The aroma is predominantly spruce with maybe some pale or bready malt underneath. The flavor is all about the spruce, like chewing on an evergreen, not that thatís something Iíve ever done but if I had Iíd imagine it would taste kind of like this beer. Thatís not as bad as it sounds, but itís hard to decide how much I like it. Itís different anyway. Thereís some hops bitterness in there too, but the finish is spruce laden too.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Smells a little solvent-like, decent carbonation, nice mouth-feel - the spruce is VERY present, though not super pleasant. I would say interesting as a novelty, not a set of flavors I would wish to revisit.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours thick white and cloudy with a white head. Aroma and flavor brings nice spruce and evergreen flavors blended with hops and malts so well on the palate. There is a nice balanced sweetness that makes it easy drinking. On tap the spruce flavors were much stronger but still enjoyed!

No, sorry...canít do it. I LOVE Shortís but this style no matter who brews it is repulsive. Imagine Christmas tree reservoir water and hops....yuck.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle brought back from Michigan. Clear yellow to gold in color with a thin white head. Aroma of malt, pine and noble hop. Malty flavor with bitter pine before a crisp finish.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12oz bottle thanks to Santa, pours mostly semi hazy yellow/golden with a large white head. Spruce and citrus aroma, light grassy hops and some yeast. Spruce is very prominent but not overwhelming balanced well with resinous citrus hops, finishing with yeast and dry cracker malt. I donít know how much of a Pilsner I would consider this but itís very tasty and well done.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a pale yellow with a thin white head. Aroma is mainly pine. Flavor is a very potent pine. I imagine you can get this flavor from stuffing your face with pine needles. The pine character is very surprising given that itís so much stronger than the aroma. This is a bold beer, and while I find it interesting, Iím still not sure how much I actually enjoyed it.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pour on tap, clear golden pour with white head, aroma brought notes of big mint, spruce, pine needle into some slight bread, hints of orange as well into a bit of spice. Taste was a mix of slight biscuit, some earth into big mint, pine, some slight fruity notes with a hint of orange, finishing minty, herbal, bitter.

GABF 2014. Tons of pine aroma and flavor. Gold color, dry overall as a pilsner should be. if you like pine/spruce aromas, you would probably enjoy this beer.
