Strawberry Short’s Cake is a golden ale. The addition of strawberries and milk sugar transform this beer into a rose colored nectar that has hints of cream and is pleasingly sweet. Biscuit flavors and aromas arise from the great amounts of Victory malt used in the brewing process.

Bottle. Strawberries, milk, biscuit malt and light straw aroma. Dark amber with giant light tan head. Mildly sweet strawberry, biscuit malt, mild lactic acid, and lightly bitter straw flavor. Good body.

Draft at Bainbridge. Murky dark brown peach pour with off-white foam. Strawberry jam. Sponge cake. Vanillin. Milk. Glossy edge. Hints of darker caramels underneath but mostly feels superficial.

Bot. Fruit beer it is, smells like intriguingly malty fruit. Taste is better than expected, was thinking this would be a dull brew but its not. It actually is a sweeter malty brew with shades of strawberry in there. Yes, on the label it says brewed with milk shuggah and you can taste it. Probably could be fermented out a bit more. Lighter maroon color, something you might see in a young american barleywine. Good mild CO2. I want to like this but it is a little cloying on the back end. Reminds me of something I might have had at Beaver brewing. Yea, thanks Dan. weird finish fer sher.

Bottle courtesy of my friend Lance. Thanks! Dark amber pour with a short, foamy tan head. Aroma is strawberries and almost a cake-like sweetness. Taste is malty and sweet with sponge cake notes, light strawberry notes and hints of strawberry yogurt. Body is medium with a soft, bubbly carbonation. Ends with more sweet malt, cake notes, slightly rotting strawberries and strawberry yogurt.

This is done very well. Not as sweet as expected. Perfect balance of sweet and tart with fruit. Pink cloudy appearance. Tart strawberry with a touch of sweet bready taste. Tap

Bottle. It pours a hazy reddish pink color witha small disappearing off white head. The aroma is full with strawberries. maybe even a hint of cherry with a bready malt backbone. It definitely smells dessert-like. The flavor has more sweet strawberries, a little bread, sugar and light cream. Pretty spot on for what they’re advertising here. Not as sweet as I was expecting. Pretty light bodied too, although substantial enough to support all the sweet flavors. The strawberry character stands out and seems pretty authentic and pleasant to me. Pretty well executed, which impresses me, but I’m not sure why anyone would want this beer form.

I very rarely like non lambic strawberry beers but this was pretty tasty. +++ Sampled on draft at 3R6P this beer poured a dark brown color with faint orange-red highlights and a small foamy white head that faded quickly and left no lacing. The aroma was sweet strawberry jam and yeast. The flavor was strawberry jam - but not overwhelmingly sweet - with a white bread note underneath. Long strawberry jam finish. Medium body. Poundable.

on tap @ Vino Bellissimo / Lima OH --- Nearly clear medium golden amber, off-white head, blobs and bands of lace. Taste is mild caramel malt that adds only the lightest hint of strawberry. I don’t get any cream. It is light, it is enjoyable, but the description doesn’t match my experience.
