COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Strawberry Short’s Cake is a golden ale. The addition of strawberries and milk sugar transform this beer into a rose colored nectar that has hints of cream and is pleasingly sweet. Biscuit flavors and aromas arise from the great amounts of Victory malt used in the brewing process.

Strawberry Shorts Cake pours a deep orange with small bubbly beige heady that doesn’t last long. The aroma is strawberries and biscuits. The flavor is rather sweet with strawberries and biscuits. Overall this is a pretty accurate name for the beer, but the beer is pretty average.

Pours a light amber color. Aroma and taste are sweet strawberries and bready.

Pours an amber color with a thin white head. Has a pleasant sweet strawberry aroma. Flavor is also fruity, along with some bread and grass notes. Mouthfeel is a bit watery. That odd grassy taste hurts, otherwise this is very tasty.

Poured from bottle to glass. Amber hue with fizzy white head that dissipated. Aroma is strawberry, hay, acid, cereal. Mouthfeel is nice with lighter body and zesty carbonation. Taste is dry sweetness initially with a clean finish. Overall this is an impressive brew! Strawberries are quite difficult to brew with and this one is really nice.

UPDATED: AUG 20, 2014 Smells like ass and pound cake. Light strawberry tartness and tang with wheat and toast and a bit of milk sugar. I had both the 2013 and 2014 bottles. Both had a sort of metallic/iron/blood aftertaste, but only on some of the sips, which was weird.

Strawberry sweetness, giving easy to flavors of grains and cake. Slight funk but nice and sweet. Couldn’t have a lot of this one but good for variety.

Bottle to pint, nice looking medium reddish amber. Sweet aroma, strawberries, bread and milk. Taste matches, pretty sweet. They hit the nail on the head with this one.

Tap. Sort of a golden-amber. Bit of head. Smells vaguely of strawberries. Solid mouthfeel. Tastes of real strawberries, bit of breadiness. Definitely tastes like its name, and without being too sweet!

Aroma is vanilla and stawberrys... taste is similar, very sweet with a little funk on the end. A pretty good fruit beer, would like to try a fresh brew.

Bottle (12 oz). Extra from Mark, thanks! Slightly hazy copper/reddish brown with a small beige head and no lacing. Aroma of strawberries, vanilla, light rotten notes and sugar. Taste is moderately sweet with strawberries, vanilla and sugar. Light to medium body. Moderate carbonation. Kind of creamy mouthfeel. The beer fits the description, but that doesn’t mean it’s a good beer. Too sugary and the strawberries, while being really present, aren’t bright like some other strawberry beers (those who come to my mind are Upland Strawberry Lambic or Hanssens Oudbeitje, though it’s not the same style of beer).
